New Balance FAI Intermediate Cup 2017/18 Third Round Draw

http://www.fai.ie/domestic/news/fai-intermediate-cup-3rd-round-draw-0" rel="nofollow - http://www.fai.ie/domestic/news/fai-intermediate-cup-3rd-round-draw-0

(Matches Sunday Weekending 26th November)

UCD Exclusion
Lucky opponents Everton AFC will be in the Draw for the FAI Senior Cup because of UCD (LSL) exclusion from that competition.  In the past, UCD (LSL) were eligible for and have competed the FAI Senior Cup, most recently in 2009.
https://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2009/0407/247602-faicup/" rel="nofollow - https://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2009/0407/247602-faicup/

Success/presumed success of UCD (LSL) embarrasses other FCs, especially in the League of Ireland.  It may show that the LoI FCs may not be as successful as they could be. Certainly in comparison to UCD AFC/UCD (LSL). So excluding UCD (LSL) from high profile competitions reduces the embarrassment of those 'community-focused' League of Ireland FCs.

UCD have successfully competed in the Leinster Senior League since 2003 when the club first introduced a team into the LSL Major Sunday Leagues winning annually promotions and then slowing down to bi-annual promotions. A few years in the Sunday Senior top tier ended with relegation at the end of last season.

Players like David and Evan McMillan, Samir Belhout, Conor 'Ed Sheerin' Cannon, NI Underage Int. Hugh Davey, Paul O'Conor are some of the players that have past through into the eircom/Airtricity/SSE Airtricity League.

After 2009, I understand a new rule was introduced that one club [perhaps umbrella name] can't provide two teams in FAI Cup.  Even though there are established separate squads, different seasons Winter and Summer, separate Leagues, separate levels Senior and Intermediate.

There is no Pyramid structure in Irish Football, but if two teams were to qualify from the same club on their own pathway, oh my gosh! that'll cause an issue among the single-team clubs.  That's the pace the FAI Cup is going at atm.

Perhaps in time UCD AFC (League of Ireland) will step a side the odd season if UCD (LSL) qualify for the FAI Cup draw.

The brother was in the goals vs The Orchard for Mid Sutton. They were expecting a hammering. Good result for my old club Home Farm as well

Was as today's semi between Ringmahon Rangers and Killester the dubs raced into a  three goal lead before Ringmahon scored a wonderful goal some what against the run of play just before half time.
In the second half Killester sat back and were willing to hit Ringmahon on break but the Cork side huffed and puffed but had to wait to near the end to grab a deserved second although they had claims for a penalty waved away shortly before that. Entertaining game finished 3-2 to the visitors.
