You can make a case for any of the four teams making the final now. Two games very hard to call.

The final will not be though. France's side of the group is far superior and the winners of France-Germany will comfortably win the final.

I fancy Wales to beat Portugal. France to edge out Germany in a classic. France to beat Wales comfortably in the final.

Think Wales will really miss Ramsey in the semi. Also think they've had a good run of fortune and can see that coming to a halt vs Portugal. Although I thought that would happen against Belgium and was clearly way off on that one.

Germany to sneak a tight affair with France and beat Portuglal comfortably enough in the final.

Yeah I think Ramsey's absence would tilt me towards Portugal. He's been brilliant for them so far and is a huge loss.

Would agree with this, everything good comes through him, I would back them with him, I won't touch them without. France to win it out.

One point off first in a €990 pot predictor. Have France to win the whole thing, beating Germany in the semis with Griezmann the tournaments tops scorer.

Still think France will win it out, and also think Wales will beat Portugal. Really haven't been impressed with Portugal at all.

Had 25 euro on the four semi finalists being - Germany, France, Portugal and Spain. Fcuking Spain doing me out of 1200 euro.

Some record the Portuguese have at the Euros....
1996 - Quarter Final
2000 - Semi Final
2004 - Final
2008 - Quarter Final
2012 - Semi Final
2016 - Semi Final

Think Portugal will win after extra time
2-1

Germany despite injuries will have enough to beat French, as seen last night and against usas soon as someone attacked the French they looked vulnerable.

The Germans to win 3-0 Muller to score a hat trick

It'll be a Portugal - Germany final.

Ramsey is a huge lose for Wales, a terrific run but Johnny Williams simply isn't Aaron Ramsey, Ben Davies will be a massive lose also. 2-0 Portugal.

Germany v France.. Germany. Mats is a blow, but not catastrophic Kimmich can slot in there were he played a number of times for Bayern in the league and Champions League, id expect Mustafi to come in though.

I wonder will he slot in Podolski or go with Gotze up top.. or possibly put Muller into his favoured position.

Germany have the strength and depth to overcome any injury worries, cant look past the Germans.

France have never lost in a tournament when played at home.

EURO 2016
Still unbeaten (drew one of the group games)

WC 1998
Won every match

Euro 1984
Won every match

For that reason I'm going for them to beat Germany.

I think Wales missing Ramsey and Davies is a big blow for them. Portugal to win it...just

Well, they hosted the 1938 World Cup and Italy won that so they must have lost a game during that.

While we're at it, they drew with Italy in WC '98.

Portugal have been terrible so far.
At least Wales have shown some moments of genuine class to justify being in the Semis.
Portugal are also the only non group winner in the semi final.
If Wales can keep Ronaldo and the wonder kid Sanchez quite it'll be a pretty straight forward Wales win, even though Ramsey will be a big loss.

Weigl would be a better option than Can to start in midfield! Gomez injury could be a blessing, thought Germany were very pedestrian like in the QF with Gomez and Muller up top.

Reckon Wales beat Portugal too. They could actually win this outright! France v Wales final is my bet.

I hope Wales stuff Portugal but I reckon this is a bridge too far for them and Portugal will win comfortably enough, maybe 3-0.

France have a stinking record against Germany in major tournaments but then again Germany got through against (even if they didn't win) Italy for the first time ever.

I think France will do it 1-0 in a non-classic.

France-Portugal final for me.

It's a great song the Welsh anthem. Also considering the way the english media are implying that half the Welsh team is English the players all know the words of their anthem and sing it.
Anyhow Wales for me tonight and zee Hermans to beat the French tomorrow.

I would love to see Wales take this massive opportunity trouble is Ronaldo has a habit of looking out of it then he sticks away a crucial goal.

Ramsey a huge loss alright, no question. Allen has been a bit casual in position too. I do think Ramsey would drive them on here in a way King can't.

He is capable of doing that in any type of game, it appears to be Portugal's only plan, keep it tight and pray for Ronnie. Go out and impose your game on them and get a goal.

Conversely, they've a sh*t record playing semi-finals when they're the host nation, losing 100% of such matches they've played.

France, on the other hand, have won 100% of such matches.

But Germany have got through in 100% of the major tournament semi-finals they've played against France.

As Conor MocNomora would say "SOMETHING HAS TO GIVE!"

I'd say they would just about beat us at the moment but I think Ireland would frustrate them . We would have to have Mc Clean on the wing to keep up with Bale and crease him with a good tackle . Joe Allen looked very ordinary out there tonight and it shows how much Ramsay compliments JA , and Allan seemed to loose the plot a bit towards the end with some stupid lunges

Neither squad has strength in depth so it could be very different when we do meet. Think they have unquestionably the better players right now though, but the Nordies gave a good show of how to play them with a very limited team.
Ramsey was a huge loss for them tonight, very little imagination going forward. Colgate's subs seemed bizarre and panicked and felt he got the tactics wrong tonight too. This was a game that Wales needed to push on and take the game to an ordinary Portugal side and didn't , Ramsey would have made a difference but Bale wasn't as much a threat as he could have been, I felt Vokes would have been a better foil, or play 4-3-1-2 and leave Bale entirely free with two centre backs pushing Portugal back, their lack of width leaving Gunter and Taylor free. In the first half Sanches was the best player on the pitch while the Welsh stood on the ba too much, not playing to Bale's strengths at all.

Why, did you think Wales would give France or Germany more of a match?

Better team won last night. Poor semi final. Wales never looked like scoring.
The final should be straight forward for whoever wins tonight.

Really hope France win tonight. They have the better attacking options than Germany but a suspect defense.

France 2 - Germany 1

Thought a Welsh team with Ramsey could have given them a bit of a scare, like we did with France and Germany in the past year. With Portugal, I kinda feel Fra/Ger will be less complacent.
Also, Wales would be a better underdog story than Portugal

Have to disagree Shedite. Wales have been blessed in the competition and their luck had to run out at some point. Not that Portugal are great shakes mind, but reckon they will give Germany/France far more of a game then the Welsh would have. Portugal have much greater strength in depth and will stick to their tactic of keeping it tight and hoping for some Ronaldo magic.

The gap between Wales' top players and the rest is actually pretty shocking. How awful was that Williams chap when he came on? Constantly giving the ball away in midfield or just comfortably being dispossessed. Taylor was very poor on the left as well. They had a great run Wales but they were well into bonus territory last night and I thought it showed. Ramsey was a huge loss and his replacement King was fairly anonymous. As others have said they probably do have the edge on us at the moment but in terms of potential top seeds for the group we really won the jackpot drawing Wales.

Really looking forward to tonight's match. I reckon it will be quite like the Italy-Germany game. Hopefully ending in another highly entertaining peno shootout!

Wales never had the squad to deal with the absence of either Bale or Rooney and it showed last night, they really missed Ramsey and Bale was trying too hard to make up for it. Hopefully one or both will be injured when we play them in the WC qualifiers.

Fair play to them, they had a great tournament. Portugal have to be the worst team to reach the final in living memory and I include Greece in 04 in that. The winner should surely come from tonight's game although anything can happen in a one off game.

Tonight's match has the potential to be a cracker, neither team can defend and Hummels is suspended. Every time there is a corner you will nearly expect a goal. On the assumption that Boateng is going to gift France one, 3-2 to the French.

Greed has won, big finance has won. Whatever small role elite clubs still play in the local communities from which they grew is dwarfed now by their position as global brands.

Wales had a magnificent tournament, winning four games. They've done something at this tournament that we can only dream of. Had we made the semi's and beaten two powerhouses, along with Slovakia and the North, we'd be singing ballads about it for time immemorial.

Ramsey and Bale played to their top levels that we know they can. Their (mostly) journeymen teammates raised their game to higher than expected levels.
Had Ramsey not been suspended they would have had a much better chance of making the final. As the game played out without Ramsey, they were looking for Bale to drop back to midfield and also get on the end of his own creation to score a goal.

Ramsey and Bale are playing at a completely different level to any of our current crop and as such will be expected to be the difference in our WC qualifying group. They will go into the WC campaign as clear favourites to top our group. I'm glad we're not playing them till next spring and have them at home first.

I want to like him for his charity work, his attitude to fans and his ability, but has there have been a bigger cock on a football pitch? His closest challenger is the centre back!

Russia are not a powerhouse, they're a sh*thouse, and have been for decades.

Pound for pound they're probably the worst football nation around.

Yeah they're totally sh*te. In the past decade, they've either won their qualifying group or finished second getting to the finals 4 out of 5 times. The one that they failed to get to in 2010, was by virtue of being on the wrong side of an away goal in a playoff.

Powerhouse? Russian sides of the past might have been decent but I think it was generally accepted that the present Russian side were the worst team at this tournament. Let's be honest, Wales got the easiest group in the tournament and then were blessed to be awarded the prize of NI in the round of 16 (entirely due to England's failure to break down a very average Slovakia side during the last round of fixtures). To be fair their victory over Belgium in the QFs was impressive and showed quite clearly that we gave them far too much respect when we played them. In fact Wales themselves were guilty of something similar in their loss to a pretty dreadful England side.

Last night they were clearly missing Ramsey, who might not be a superior player to Bale but I would argue a more important cog in the Welsh machine, but they were beaten comfortably enough by one of the worst Portuguese sides I can recall.

We'll know a lot more come the WC qualifiers but personally think there is very little for us to fear, especially as i say considering their top seed position in the group.

Don't agree with this at all.
Wales played Belgium twice and took 4 points from them in the qualifiers, I mentioned that the Welsh would be absolutely buzzing with that draw as they would be well and truly up for it and repeat what they did not even 12 months ago.
The same would apply if we were drawn against the Germans in the 2nd round.

Wales were tactically outdone last night, the Portuguese correctly discovered Wales are best when they don't have the ball, so they defend in high numbers and counter-attack so Portugal played them at their own game and dropped off deep so Wales didn't even know what to do with the ball they're not used to having so much possession - Wales had 58% possession last night.

They really are an ordinary team with one of the best players in the world. He was the main reason they qualified by scoring 5 of their 10 goals.

Beat Denmark 1-0 with a 90+5 min goal from Ronaldo
Beat Armenia 1-0 with a 72 min goal from Ronaldo
Beat Armenia 3-2 with a hatrick from Ronaldo. They were 1-0 down.

People giving Portugal far too much credit for their tactics last night, it is the same tactic they have used in nearly every game, don't want the ball and pray for Ronaldo. Wales just got their's all wrong, they attempted to copy it and hope Bale would get one before Ronaldo. Ramsey was a loss but Coleman must have regrets how he went about it. They could get to another 15 tournament semi-finals and not play a weaker side, even his substitutions were desperation! Credit to Ronaldo though, he was the difference on the big stage again.
