Kevin Toner & Rory Hale for Villa seem like genuine top prospects. Very early yet, but still.

Some serious tackles from Toner for the u21's last night he absolutely creamed 2 lads resulting in a red card and a massive brawl, might see plenty of him in the championship next season.

Yeah saw that. In fairness in went into both tackles with a single leg - thought it was a pretty harsh red myself. Felt like the ref just showed him the red due to the melee that broke out.

Tackles were fine in my opinion but he stuck the head in your man at the start of the, ahem, 'melee'.

Very harsh, he is still very young.

Better chance of him playing with Villa dropping down to the championship next year. I can see a big clearout happening there over the summer, hopefully it works in his favour.

I know it must have been an honour for him to play against shane long but there was no need to try ride him! I think that was in the lead up to one of the goals

Yeah, makeshift left-back. He seems like a carbon copy of Clark to me, same build, same style of play, both left-footed centre-backs who made their break through playing at left-back... It's uncanny.

Originally signed as a left back but has played most of his academy and loan football at centre half. Might not be big enough long term at CH but has a tremendous leap and top class attitude.

Roberto Di Mateo has named his 24 man squad for pre-season, and has left out Kevin toner.

Typical, not surprised anyway. With the money in football these days it's almost impossible for Irish players to break through at clubs like these

Ridiculous. The only part of last season that wasn't sh*te was Toner breaking through, even if he was a bit out of his depth at times he was still miles better than some of the other useless pieces of meat in that team.

That's a shame for the lad as it was a big breakthrough for him last season to break into a PL side. He'll likely have to drop down the divisions on loan if he wants more 1st team action next season.

That's a pretty cynical view there.

I'm guessing he would probably be the opposite and pretty humble if he's after walking away from a decent wage at St Pats to play for free (in theory) in the LSL.
