As your newly installed resident European football expert* some news from the continent regarding everyones second favourite ybig South American(after the great JAV)

EL LOCO is now the papers fav to take over at Roma until the end of the season as he apparently only wants a 6 month deal (obviously so he's free in July to take over Ireland) which suits Roma perfect as they continue their pursuit of a big name appointment such as Ancelotti from the summer onwards

Quits after two days in charge, the man many on here would loved to have seen manage Ireland.

Perhaps the board wouldn't fund a move for OKANE or SHERIDAN

Very hard to prove it if Argentina wait a few months to give him the job and go through a "recruitment process".

Watching them here against West Brom.   Clear game plan and everyone knows their role.  In posession they play 3 at the back.  EVERY TIME the midfielder drops back to collect the ball like a quarter back and they have 3 up top.

If that was Ireland Duffy would have the ball and not have a clue what to do with it and boot a 50 yard diagonal pass out for a throw.

If that was Ireland Duffy would have the ball and not have a clue what to do with it and boot a 50 yard diagonal pass out for a throw.

That's not exactly groundbreaking stuff mind, any decent junior side will do that in a 4-5-1/4-3-3.

Agreed but my point was there was a plan, and everyone knew their job.  With MON's Ireland the players take to the field and have to improvise as they go along.  Nobody has a clue what to do.

He's admitted to the spying, says he doesn't care what anyone says and he's done it everywhere he's been for the last 20 years since he was manager of Argentina.

Lampard not happy at all. Just claimed they had someone at their training ground last time they played Leeds.

I'd say Loco has been doing it the whole season

It would have been funny had    E  L      L  O C  O
sent someone to spy on a Martin O'Neill training session if he gets the job at Forest.

Spy:   ''El LOCO zer is no tactics I could see. Only 5 a side. Ay Caramba!''

Bielsa:  ''That O'Neill is smart my friend.  He knew you were spying. Aye aye aye!''

I think that’s brilliant- we need more managers like him.

Andrews position is untenable due to his marge Simpson haircut not being able to fit into widescreen TVs.

What do ya reckon you'd learn from watching a team's training session? Surely you'd see 90% of their set piece play from previous games. You'd know their formation within 5 mns of the start. Am I missing something?

Lad on a public road watching a training session. What big trouble do you foresee and under what rules?

Sure this has bee going on for decades.  Cameroon had a spy at England training before the 1990 QF with England.  Bobby Robson knew about it and instructed Linker to practice his penalties in the opposite side he was planning to hit them if he got a peno in the game.

Benfica sent a spy to watch AC Milan under Arrigo Sacchi before a European Cup Final..

Nobody complained.

Andrews comments were embarrassing. Really buying into the 'our league, our culture doesn't stand for that kind of thing' that Sky and the British media in general lap up. Jaysus if anything the pundits should have been impressed by Bielsas attention to detail. Especially considering how critical Andrews was on MON farcical lack of pre match preparation as Ireland manager. Here was a manager doing everything possible to gain any advantage he could. Andrews should have applauded him.

Then you had Frank Lampard, white as a ghost. Looked like he had just witnessed his family and friends being murdered, such was the horror and distraught look on his face when duscussing his training being spied on LOL Lampard played under coaches like Mourinho. Does he really believe this stuff hasn't gone on in teams he was involved with before? Or that this stuff doesn't now go on regularly to a certain degree in English football?

Saw a Tweet earlier this morning with an screen grab extract of AVBs book where he describes doing this very thing when working for JM at Chelsea - I’d be surprised if that turns up on Sky Sports News - not part of their ex England player sinned against narrative.

Remember once Spain sent someone to spy on Eire at LR training session so Jack told the lads to play GAA. Niall Quinn loved it. Juan and Pablo left confused.

He has called an impromptu press conference for 5pn. There's talk of him resigning following the controversy over spygate.

The English would want to get over themselves.
