Hoping Westport go far in this again. Would love to make the semi finals and have another crack at the Senior Cup. Knocked out in the last 16 two years in a row by Sheriff so hopefully we can avoid them going forward.

Listowel Celtic were beat today by Glin Rovers 3-2. Listowel went the furthest any Kerry team ever did last year. I think they got to the last 16. Decent team so a great result for the men from Glin

Depends on a few things like was his contract cancelled etc.
Signed a lad before from Longford, nightmare of paperwork.
Get on to the girls in LOI office n FAI and they should advise you.

I'm guessing that if he played in the fai senior cup and then was in season while the fai junior cup started then he'd be unable to play

Id imagine Salthill would be a big ask for Manulla but hopefully they can cause an upset.

Haven't been out that way in years but they used to have a savage pitch.

Are there 5 subs allowed in the cups this season?! I was reading a report on the Junior Soccer Portal and they mentioned it in relation the Leinster Junior cup. Firhouse Clover were beaten 3-0 by Newlands/Castle Park and they said that Newlands used their 5 subs.

Was our 2nd team.

For clubs with Intermediate teams you are best off out of these cups ASAP as there's no chance of winning them. Wayside got to the last 16 of the Junior Cup a few years ago but cost them any chance of winning the Saturday league. Way way too many cups at all levels of amateur football.

I wasn't overly impressed with River Valley Rangers. They beat us 4-1 at the weekend but it was one of the worst displays I've seen from Westport in a long while.

Killarney Celtic came from behind to beat Newmarket Celtic 3-2 in Clare today to march onto the last 16. Dingle lost out 2-1 to Janesboro in Limerick. Celtic playing Ringmahon Rangers B in Munster Junior cup last 32 next weekend in Killarney. Dingle looking to bounce back against Dynamos in the league.

We beat Rivervalley in the AUL Complex yesterday 1-0 after extra time. Jack Doherty with goal and has now scored in every round and we have yet to concede a goal. Praying for a home tie in Thursdays draw avoid Sheriff or Janesboro and we be confident against anyone else.

Ringmahon B beatten by Willow Park of Athlone 3-2 in the FAI junior cup at the week end, they have some good ball players and are a decent side however imo the one thing that holds them back is their mentality. Some total lunatics on the team.

FAI Junior Cup 7th Rd Draw

Evergreen v Willow Pk
Ballananty v Kilarney Celtic
Navan Comos v Janesboro
Sheriff YC v Villa FC
Donnycarney v Kilmallock
Boyle Celtic v VEC
Regional v Carrick
Peake Villa v Crumlin Utd

Sheriff at home again!!!! They will beat Villa from Waterford, they are not nasty enough to deal with Sheriff's sh*tehousery.
Tie of the round is Navan Cosmos v Janesboro, can see this going to pens.
Ballynanaty v Kilarney could be aright battle.
Every team was looking to draw Donnycarney, Boyle or VEC perceived weakest of the 16 left.
We are travelling to Limerick for 3rd time in 4 seasons at this stage, left games v Ballynanty and Moyross behind previously hoping to go one better this time.

Sheriffs competition to lose again.

Celtic dispatched of Ringmahon tonight in a replay in Killarney ( 3-0 ). Game was abandoned last week when we were 1 up due to a serious injury to a Ringmahon player. You were right about them being lunatics. Couldn't take their beating and started getting nasty which resulted in one lad getting sent off. Their keeper had a nightmare. Celtic looking very good at the moment , into last 16 in both FAI and Munster with a good blend of experience and youth.

Was at the Booth Road/Regional game in last round. Booth road should have won.
Regional are very strong on set pieces, played 3 at the back (all 6ft+) and tried to play at, but werent allowed to.
Tall, rangy CM lad was very good, but they were lucky to go through imo.

That's good to hear. Confident we can beat them even though I haven't seen them play. A Kerry team beat them in their own back year over a year ago and Dingle gave them a game a few weeks ago. We have a decent attack. Warming up the weekend before with a game against a Cork City 11

Buzzing for this tomorrow night. Had a decent warm up game against City Monday night in which they beat us 4-2 even if the score line flattered us imo. Karl Sheppard scored a brilliant goal for Citys second.  More like a competitive game than a friendly and it will stand to Celtic that they were on the backfoot for long periods of the game. The club expect a crowd of around 2000 tomorrow night so hopefully it will be a big boost for the lads and see them over the line.

Thanks MC. Was the best night in the clubs history and a historic night as the 1st Kerry team to reach the semis.
Boro were much the better side in the first half and we were lucky to be only 1 down at half time. We cleared a ball off the line onto the crossbar and out and they had another couple of decent chances. They had a player booked for diving in the box also.
In the 2nd half it was a different Celtic side and Boros attack wasn't as intense. We leveled about 15 mins into the second half and they hit the post at the other end after that. It was anyone's game at this stage. Normal time was nearly up when one of our most influential received a red which looked very harsh.
Was it going to be backs to the wall for extra time ? Was it f**k. Chances either end. Another Boro player booked for diving in the box as my heart stopped , waiting for the ref to point to the spot. Couldn't tell if it was the right call or not. Any touch by the Celtic defender and it was a peno.  With only 5 mins of extra time remaining and penalties looming , 1 of our subs who had just came on fired home the winner after a defensive mix up between their centre back and goalie to chaotic scenes around Celtic park.
Now the 2nd favorites are put to bed we welcome the defending champions Sheriff to Kerry after todays draw . Bring em on .

Cheers PP. One of their lads who was booked for diving was giving a second yellow in the last min of et . Sheriff will be very difficult. Think the game will be on in a neutral venue in Kerry . Don't know why

We were beaten on pens yesterday, never got going Boyle Celtic full value for the win.

Home neutral venues for the semi's is always the case.

Never got going at all yesterday, got a poxy goal to level 2-2 in 93rd min then missed 3 pens in shootout beaten 6-5. Tough to take being so close and will be the end of the road for a lot of the older players. Can see a transitional period for us.

That makes it tougher I would say. Great achievement getting to the last-8 . Fair play

Killarney Celtic 1-1 Sheriff YC Pens 2-4
Lost out on penalties last night. We started brilliantly and were all over Sheriff in the 1st half. Had couple of great chances but failed to convert them. After the break Sheriff bossed the game but we held firm and game went to et. They shaded the 1st half of et and they got the opener 2 mins into the 2nd half. Game looked to be dead then because we had our right back sent off just after it for a stupid kick at one of the Sheriff lads. We threw everything we had at them and in the last min forced another corner. Goalie up for it and all and the Sheriff keeper fouled a Celtic player in the box when the ball fell to his feet. A lifeline and our one of our centre backs who put in a brilliant performance buried it with the last kick off the game to take it to a nerve wrecking shootout. Our keeper saved their 1st peno but it just wasn't to be.
To see your club come that close to playing in Lansdowne road and losing out is heartbreaking and dejecting.

Positives to be taking from it though out way everything else though. 2 games in which over 2000 people turned out to watch a Kerry football club is impressive by our standards. The buzz around town was brilliant. Bus loads of supporters leaving Killarney to go watch the game in Kilbrean which had a pitch like a carpet. The sense of community around the club.  Hopefully more will turn up in future. The way the team has a never say die attitude , no matter what the circumstances. We have set our own standard higher now and we have shown that we can compete with the best and we belong there. Already attention has turned to the big clash with Boyle Celtic in a couple of weeks in the preliminary round of the FAI senior cup.

Unlucky Panteira. That's a tough way to lose a game but credit to you lads for getting that far. That's a serious Sheriff team as well so to push them right to the edge is impressive.

Incidentally, Sheriff seem to win a load of peno shootouts.

Sheriff won their 4th FAI Junior in 6 years at the weekend. Incredible stuff.

Liffey Wanderers from just across the river won the Inter against Cobh Wanderers.

Fair play to Aviva for all the coverage they gave it. It was great to see.

Wanderers winning the intermediate cup two years after winning the junior equivalent is an extraordinary achievement.

Was a comfortable enough win for Sheriff apparently. Great achievement by them and Liffey Wanderers on what they have done in 2 years. Did they make drastic changes to their team or what to go from winning junior to inter ?

Hi there, 8 of the players started both finals.

2 of the 3 from the FAI Junior final were on the bench last Saturday. 1 was suspended.

In comparison the Intermediate Cup received a disgracefully poor amount of coverage.

Yeah the FAI junior seems to be backed a bit more by sponsors and the FAI.
