Only one game going ahead this weekend in Premier A.  Camp United v Dingle Bay Rovers on Sunday.
Killarney Celtic v Castleisland AFC called off over a bereavement ( was stupid having it on the same time Ireland play Gibralter anyway ) Dynamos kick off in the Munster League champions cup against Hibs of Waterford at 2 on Sunday

Premier A results
Camp United 1-5 Fenit Samphires
Mastergeeha 1-1 Castleisland

Great start by the 2 promoted teams to the top division.  Mastergeeha result was probably the most surprising. They were well worth their point against the 2014 Champions even though they rode their luck sometimes. Mastergeeha went ahead early in the first half against the run of play. Castleisland had hit the post previous to this and Castleisland got the equaliser just before half time. After the break Castleisland looked the more dangerous. The closest they came was from a corner which deceived everyone and came back off the crossbar, but they had to settle for a point in the end. Pitch was in great nick considering the rain the last 3 days.

Scart don't have a team Nvidic. Players from Scart play with Castleisland. They have a former Kerry Senior footballer playing at right back.

With Munster Junior cup games on this weekend there is only 1 Premier A game on and what a game that should be.  Friday is Derby day in Killarney. And with both teams losing their 1st games against tough opposition , there is no room for error. Expect goals , crunching tackles and 2 teams going for 3 points.
7.45   Killarney Celtic v Killarney Athletic    Celtic Park

Killarney Atheltic scum! Come on Celtic Clap

Killarney Celtic 4-4 Killarney Athletic

The 100 odd people who turned up at Celtic Park this evening were treated to an enthralling game of football. Both teams lined out with 2 strikers as they went all out for the 3 points. Celtic went 2 up inside the first 24 minutes before Athletic pulled a goal back. Celtic regained their 2 goal advantage when they carved the Athletic defence opened around the 35 min mark, but couldn't hold on until half time as Athletic snatched a scrappy goal from a set piece in injury time. Half time 3-2.

After the break Athletic were the more threatening and got their reward on the hour , 3-3. After the equalizer it was pretty much even and it could have gone either way. Celtic got an chance mid way through the 2nd half when a great ball was played over the top and Celtics veteran striker smashed the ball to the roof of the net with his weaker foot , cue scenes of mayhem . He got booked for taking his shirt off and celebrating in front of Athletics bench and supporters. f**k sake ref , he's only a young fella. Athletic scored the games final goal with 5 minutes to go to snatch a draw which they fully deserved.

Last year there was about 150 at it id say. Think there was a LOI game on TV that night so a few might have watched that instead. Would be Celtics biggest attendance for the league.

 Premier A Fixtures Sunday
11-30  Killarney Celtic Fc  v  Castleisland Afc
11-30  Killarney Athletic  v  Listowel Celtic

Should be 2 good games. Celtic v Castleisland could be a great game. Castleisland won this fixture last season to kill off any chance Celtic had of making the league final so revenge is on the cards Sunday morning. Will be a tough game.

  Killarney Celtic  7 v 2 Castleisland Afc
  Killarney Athletic 1 v 1 Listowel Celtic

Best performance from Killarney Celtic in a long time. Some excellent football played. Totally outplayed Castleisland and they should have got another couple. If they could have some consistency they would have a great chance of a league final. 14 goals scored in 3 games against 3 of the strongest clubs in KDL. Football the Killarney Celtic way.

There was talk of that this year, in fact I heard an interview with a KDL member saying it was all but a done deal and they would be allowed to put in a representative side. Its a funny situation as if hurling can thrive in Kerry

Listowel Celtic 1-4 Tralee Dynamos
St Brendans Park 0-2 Killarney Celtic
Killarney Athletic 3-4 Mastergeeha Fc

Great wins for the 3 away clubs in Premier A.  Listowel and Athletic are having a nightmare start to the season. Expected Dynamos to beat Listowel and Celtic would have being my favourites going to Christy Leahy Park after their performance last weekend , but Mastergeeha's win over Athletic in Woodlawn is very impressive.

The Kerry District League were given a ringing endorsement at a meeting on Monday night by the clubs of the county , to press ahead with their plans to explore entry in the newly formed U-17 National League, due to commence in March 2016. There was unanimous support from club delegates that Kerry should peruse entering a team, representing the best young talent in the county, in the proposed National Competition which would involve a three year commitment.

KDL Chairman Sean O’Keeffe outlined the pros and cons involved in entering a team in the National U-17 Competition, with the cost being a major consideration, but the need to provide a pathway for emerging talent was considered to outweigh any negatives on how it might be funded. Delegates spoke about the need to provide a pathway for the brightest young talent emerging from the Schoolboys League, so that they would have somewhere to play at a higher level, within the county, rather than being forced to travel to neighbouring League of Ireland Clubs in Munster.

A KDL Sub-Committee under chairman Sean O’Keeffe and Secretary John O’Regan have been mandated to explore the matter further with FAI officials, Fran Gavin and Pat Duffy and then the KDL Executive will decide whether to enter the U-17 League, as there are other entities in the county interested.

The League will then,  have to have its application approved by the FAI, and at that point, it would then appoint a management team, make out a business plan for funding the venture and set about signing players and commencing training in early January. It is an exciting step for the KDL to be taking, and one that will see young soccer stars of the future, being given the opportunity to wear a Kerry jersey

Tralee Dynamos held a meeting last week to discuss their expression of interest in entering a team .

No they play in Cahermoneen. Their pitch ( or field would be more accurate ) is right next door to the KDL's ground Mounthalk Park. If they ever play LOI id imagine they would use the KDL ground.

Id agree with you when it comes to desire to play LOI football. KDL will never field a LOI senior team unless someone with money approaches them and backs it. On the other hand Dynamos would be hard pressed to get more supporters. They would need serious financial backing.  Now isn't the time for a Killarney team imo. Its a good bit down the line even though there are better facilities in Killarney.

PanteirA, how are ye getting games played down in the Kingdom, are ye getting games played on Astro pitches.  I thought Kerry was one of the worst hit areas in the recent storms and flooding.

Posted By: PanteirA
Date Posted: 21 Dec 2015 at 10:35pm
Yes otb astro mostly. Some clubs have astro pitches and I think about 13/14 clubs play at the home of the KDL Mounthawk Park which now has an astro pitch after funding from the sports council. Dynamos played their home game their on Friday night and Dingle played a home match there 2 weeks ago so its getting good use. 40 euro for a club to rent the pitch and a bit more for lights I believe. Ye affected badly in Waterford ?

Only coming back to you, haven't been signed in in over a week. All games in Waterford off the whole month bar a few FAI and Munster Cup ties where clubs decided to play to avoid losing home advantage. We have no full size astro turf pitches available to us in any part of Waterford. You are very lucky in Kerry in that regard, You were very lucky that our supreme leader owned a cake bakery in Tralee and bestowed ye with numerous astro turf pitches!

3 games in Premier A this weekend .

Friday    Dingle v Fenit
Sunday  Killarney Celtic v Park
             Dynamos v Listowel Celtic

Hopefully Fenit can take some points off Dingle. Only two clubs yet to drop points but Dingle have an extra 3 games played. Dynamos will beat Listowel and Killarneys hoops will have to beat the Park to stay in with a chance of the league title. Castleisland and Killarney Athletic replay in the Greyhound cup is on Sunday. I think Castleisland will just about progress.

Dingle Bay Rovers 2-2 Fenit Samphires
Killarney Celtic 5-4 St Brendans Park Fc
Tralee Dynamos 5-2 Listowel Celtic

Share of the spoils for the top 2 in premier A Friday night set up a great weekend of football in the Kingdom. Dynamos got their 3 points against Listowel to move them closer to the league final as a dramatic game unfolded before a thrilled crowd at Celtic park in Killarney.

One thing that you can never say about Celtic is their never say die attitude which has being evident in must win games recently. This was a game that was almost lost in the 1st half when they found themselves 2-0 down to a good Park team who are pushing close to the top of the table. Celtic pulled it back to 2-2 with both goals which were brilliantly taken coming in a 3 minute spell. Celtic dropped off the pace a bit and Park hit back with a powerful header from a poorly defended corner to go into the break 3-2 up.

Celtic had a goal disallowed after the break for offside and shortly after Park went 4-2 up. Two Celtic players got booked and you would be forgiving for thinking they might lose their discipline. Celtic upped the tempo , pulled one back and went on to dominate the game from here. After they drew level you could sense a winner coming , and with 12 or so minutes remaining they went ahead for the first time in the game. Park got a couple of free kicks in dangerous positions but couldn't take advantage , and Celtic should have rounded it off with a 6th at the death but the Park keeper pulled off a good save. 2 teams going for the title , 9 goals on a wet and windy Sunday morning in Killarney. Brilliant.

Castleisland - Killarney Athletic game amongst others called off due to weather. Replay Friday night in Mounthalk Park

2 defeats over the last 6 days for Fenit Samphires ( 2-3 to The Park , 0-1 to Dynamos ) really throws a place in league final up for grabs.  Mixed fortunes for the Park. After beating Fenit Monday night , they went on to get a hiding from table toppers Dingle today ( 2-6 ) A league final against Dingle is achievable for St Brendans Park , Fenit Samphires , Tralee Dynamos and Killarney Celtic. With most of these having to play each other , there will be some cracking games in store over the next couple of months

Killarney Celtic beat Killarney Athletic 1-0 in Woodlawn on Sunday. If we beat Dingle on Wednesday in Killarney it would be 5 wins in a row in the league. Fenit only managed a point at home to Listowel so if Celtic win their game in hand they can go above them.

Killarney Celtic 2-2 Dingle Bay Rovers
A very good game of football with both teams missing some of their top players but 2 points dropped. Dingle equalized in the last minute but Celtic should have taken 2 great chances before that to finish the game. Probably a fair result overall.

Dynamos beat Fenit 4-1 yesterday to put Celtic in pole position to make the league final against Dingle. 3 points ahead of Fenit with a superior goal difference and 4 games each left. Our 2 home games are Listowel and Dynamos, and aways are Dingle next weekend and Fenit which could be the decider to who makes it. I think Fenit could win their other 3 games ( Castleisland away being the toughest of the 3 ) It will put much of the focus on Celtic to see what we can do against Dingle next weekend. Not an easy place to go play. Big few weeks ahead.

Great week for Dingle beating Dynamos away and beating Killarney Celtic at home. Castleisland beat Fenit 3-2 while Mastergeeha beat the Park 3-2 to lift them out of relegation on goal difference. Celtic are at home to Dynamos next Sunday

Game in Killarney supposed to been a belter with Celtic dominating throughout and getting the winner in injury time. Win against Listowel on Sunday in Killarney should see us in League final against Dingle as have a superior goal difference to Fenit regardless of the outcome of the last game against them. Listowel safe from relegation after beating Castleisland

Listowel gave Killarney Celtic a walkover Sunday morning , effectively meaning Killarney Celtic would finish 2nd as Fenit would have had to put up a huge score against them this weekend to overtake them. After tonight its official because Fenit only got a point against Camp Utd. The league final to determine the champions of Kerry will be Dingle Bay Rovers v Killarney Celtic FC.
Only thing to be decided in Premier A is who will be relegated with Camp United , Killarney Athletic or Mastergeeha FC
Premier B final will see Inter Kenmare v Rattoo Rovers

Going into the final round of games in Premier 1A its very exciting as QPR , AC Athletic and CSKA Tralee battle it out for a place in the league final and promotion.

Friday night at 7.30 Dingle Bay Rovers will take on Killarney Celtic in Tralee to decide who are the champions of Kerry. It has all the potential to be classic . Dingle going for their 1st Premier A title , Celtic going for their 9th with the possibility of a league and cup double. Hope a big crowd turns out for it.

Well deserved victory for Dingle Friday night as they captured their 1st Premier A title. Most consistent team over the course of the season and play some good ball too. Their Keeper made an unbelievable save when they were 1-0 up. Gianluigi Buffon would be proud.

Only a couple of games left in the season and 5 clubs in the shake up for the league final. Killarney Celtic have the advantage after todays defeat of Athletic , in 1st place with Athletic and Listowel Celtic 3 points behind although Listowel have a game in hand on both Killarney clubs. Fenit are another point behind in 4th and if Dingle win their games in hand they could possibly make the final to defend their title . Good few games between the top 5 clubs also so its making for an exciting finish to Premier A

Killarney Celtic back in the league final again after hammering Fenit 7-0 in Celtic Park Thursday night. It was a game they couldn't lose as they would have lost out on the final. Athletic have Rattoo Rovers at home and are a point ahead of Dingle who host Listowel. Same goal difference. I expect Athletic to get 3 points to make the final a Killarney derby.

Been a good week for the hoops. Beat Dynamos away in the league last Sunday 6-3 and thumped Rineanna Rovers from Clare last night 11-0 in the FAI junior cup. Fenit , Castleisland , CG Killarney and Classic Fc also progress in the cup while Dingle and Listowel are 2 good kerry sides out after the weekend.
