Subject: Separate section for Intermediate/Junior Football

Is there an argument for creating an Intermediate/ Junior football sub section within the League of Ireland section?

The LSL forum was very popular for years although it got a bit outlandish at times and wasnt properly moderated which was ultimately it's downfall. There is defo a void there now.
However, a section with threads for Intermediate LSL, Junior LSL, AUL, UCFL, LFL, Munster leagues etc could be decent. Teams can post match reports, advertise for friendlies and players etc and have a bit of banter. It might take a while to catch on but I'm thinking in terms of Kevin Costner and field of dreams here. Don't shatter my dreams lads.

It would appeal to people involved with clubs whether playing or managing etc, and there must be a good few of those floating around the forum

Surely this merits it's own section like the league of Ireland or the international side has,why stick it in with the league of Ireland?

The junior clubs I was referring to were mens teams. As in the LSL Saturday leagues, the AUL, LFL, UCFL etc. They don't have any great affiliation with Engerland to the best of my knowledge.

The LSL intermediate divisions started back last week and the junior ones are this Saturday.

There will be some interest with Killester representing the LSL in the FAI Cup quarter finals and Sheriff representing the AUL.

On a side note, Broadford Rovers off to a flyer in Senior 1 with an emphatic 5-2 away win over TEK in Rockford park last night to stretch the unbeaten run to 2 games.

Its about time. This site don't cater for all football fans on here. Should have its own section though, not LOI as the Tallaght Rovers scum dont think football exists outside of their council ground.

Tralee Dynamos 3-2 Killarney Celtic
Park 2-0 Killarney Athletic
Listowel Celtic 0-2 Castleisland

Dynamos v Celtic game was a belter. Dynamos started the better and went 2 up. Then they missed a penalty ( which was harshly given )and 10 mins later James Sugrue had another penalty saved. Celtic were all over the place for the 1st half hour. Lacked shape at the back and width going forward. Got their act together in the 2nd half and had a right go. Scored from a corner to make it 2-1 but conceded a 3rd 10 minutes later. Celtic then got a penalty when one of our strikers was brought down by the goalie and we scored to make it 3-2. Was an exciting finish to the game with Celtic going all out to grab an equalizer but it wasn't to be. We had a player sent off in injury time for pulling down a man through on goal but it didn't matter much at that stage. A deserved 3 points for Dynamos.

So this is going ahead? Good stuff.

Will there be separate subsections for each Association such as LSL, AUL, UCFL, LFL etc or will we just create threads for each one and post in there?

Terrible seeing a club liie Wayside down in Senior 1. Always one of the giants of Intermediate football. Ive played for too many clubs to have a favourite but always wanna see Home Farm (formerly Belgrove) doing well. They've had a decent start back in the top flight as well

Sheriff have equalised away to Longford. They knocked Westport out of the Junior Cup the last two years and from what Ive seen of them, they definitely have a chance of knocking Longford out tonight

Scratch that, 3-1 Longford now. Pity, would have been unreal to see a Junior club get through to the semis of the Senior Cup
