I know there's a few fans of the "lower" tiers of English football and League 1 is getting increasingly competitive every season

To go up:
Sheff Utd
Wigan

Jimmy Floyd Hassalbaink had his Burton Albion team playing great football last season, only lost 3 times since he took over (2 of them was in the space of 3 days) I feel if they can replicate some sort of that form they can sneak a 6th place playoff promotion

To go down:
Blackpool
Colchester
Crewe

Blackpool may stay up if they can finally get that lowlife Oyston to sell up

3 up and 4 down Coyne, I agree with your selections though. Would add Barnsley up and Peterborough down-bit of a surprise but I thinm the club is in free fall

Yeah couldn't think of the 4th team to go down PM.

On top of my head I'll go with Southend, I love Phil Brown but he's spent years trying to get them into League 1 and I think all that effort could just be for 1 season

That Football League show on Channel 5 they purchased from the BBC is the most awful thing I've seen on TV. I mean rather watch stuff like the X-Factor.

Wigan to go up, I honestly think theres more chance of us finishing in the bottom half, the squad is unrecognisable Disapprove Looking forward to catching an away game this season, we brought 2000 to Coventry not bad for a team in League1 with "no fans". See he got a brace this weekend, mind you if Sheff Utd don't go up this year I can imagine some club in the higher leagues will tempt him away!

Burton finally lost, no shame in narrowly losing to a club coming down from the Championship when you're coming up from League 2.

United looking decent and good response to that shocker on the opening day, all 4 forwards scored now as well

Care to mention who that someone was? Wink

I thought they were bang average last season, but I've noticed a young fella called Bradley Dack has scored for them every game this season.. Some form.

We stupidly thought that league 1 would be full of lairy big lumps but it has not been the case. We have been outplayed technically over the last few home games (Barnet, Coventry, Barnsley and Chesterfield)

big time coyne. its a shame. He is done for Ireland and Millwall. Still can make spectacular saves but his command of the area and footwork are terrible to add to his terrible kicking. Still well liked at the club but age has caught up with him

your predictions for the bottom 3 are looking good

i am so depressed with football at the moment. ireland are insipid, millwall an embarrasment. Palace and West Ham beating England's best teams has not helped!!

5 goals, a red card and a missed penalty in the 87th to make it 3-3 in the Colchester vs Sheff Utd game. Sounded like a classic.

David Forde still not getting games for Millwall, no way should he even considered for the Ireland squad if he can't get games at that level.

Gutted JFH left Burton. Everyone loves seeing an underdog doing fantastic.

But Burton have a fantastic record of appointing Managers.
Nigel Clough (Went to Derby)
Gary Rowett (Went to Birmingham)
JFH (Went to QPR)

The former being the bookies favourite. Hope they can make the right appointment one more time for their Championship push.

Apparently max, 2 Wigan players should have seen red, few pens to United denied despite being clear pens(think it was 4 that I read) and to quote "we're 3-0 down somehow and they're quite frankly not that good" (all taken off a United twitter feed which is in no way biased)

Sounded like the United leaky defence was at play tonight again and Billy Sharp missing sitters, Adkins reluctant to make changes until late on which in fairness change the game and United then start playing by which stage it's often to late - story of Uniteds season

Nigel Adkins sacked by Sheff Utd.

@PhillyK - Correct decision?

Posted By: PhilliyK
Date Posted: 12 May 2016 at 12:54pm
Correct Decision? Are you off your fkn head man?

I'll give you £3mil more of a budget than any other team in League 1 (assuming like United you are one of the only idiots in the football league who actually abide by the transfer/wage cap rules) to be spent on permanent transfers, wages and loans. You waste 60% of that on one 31 year old player then also crocks from your old teams. You finish 11th in the league (one of the worst positions in the clubs esteemed history) while sl*gging off the fans for the past 4 months for wanting the team to actually win and get promoted(imagine that), you're actually turning fans away from the ground due to your sh*t style and incompetent management skills (clueless springs to mind), you either release or piss off any of the decent young players enough that they also request to leave so you tell me, was it the correct decision or not?

Over the fukin moon the twat is gone, same as I was when the last fukwit left, time for someone who actually has a clue about the club and more importantly how to actually build a team to get promoted and utilise the actually top notch academy players correctly, so Chris Wilder is the man I reckon

I think Plymouth could have challenged, I think Wimbledon would be happy at staying up. Regarding the Beast, I have only watched a few Wimbledon games and only one in the flesh so can't comment, but he seems to be worth keeping for his personality.

Would love to see Northampton 'do a Burton' and get consecutive promotions.

Form suggests they might, they've lost 1 league game since December Cool

This season is proving how little difference there is between League 1 and League 2.

Bury and Northampton smashing it - The latter has only lost twice in 11 months and 1 of them was in the Cup vs Man Utd

Then you have last years playoff semi finalists and last years Championship flirting with relegation.

Turning into a bit of a bonkers league to predict.

Still early days thankfully but Millwall have had a terrible month and lost to some awful sides

Still only 6 points off the play offs though.

6 points separating 5th and the relegation playoffs. Crazy start to the league.

Wimbledon will be entering the playoffs as things stand, excellent effort by them so far

Tim Sherwood having a great start LOL

Loses to Eastleigh then 4-0 to Rochdale

Although he's technically not the Manager, he is there in the dugout!

Greed has won, big finance has won. Whatever small role elite clubs still play in the local communities from which they grew is dwarfed now by their position as global brands.
