@Madferret could you put all your tips in this thread please.

The "tips for today thread" has always been used more or less for horse racing tips.

Your tips are clogging up the other thread and a number of posters have said it.

Thanks bud

But if you follow the ferret, you usually make a few pounds. To predict a correct score double in South America was top, top, top tipping

Not denying that mate, just many of us on here have always used the "tips for today" thread more or less strictly for horse racing.

His posts are so long, it would serve a better purpose in a footballing tips thread + with the majority of European Leagues starting it would be no harm having a football betting thread.

For anyone with a SkyBet account, they've boosted an Everton,Bournemouth and Leicester treble from 7/1 to 10/1,worth a couple of quid

I always think that if a betting site or shop enhance the odds on a few matches then they're quietly confident it won't come up.
I've been keeping an eye on the 'specials' in my local PP and none of them have come up in the last few weeks.

Watford & Bournemouth double 2mrw.
Fill your boots.

Both will still get relegated.

First day always throws up a few shocks.

Just downloaded the Paddy Power app for android as I decided to take advantage of the enhanced odds special on Man City tonight (he does it a lot, join up, throw a tenner on City at 6/1 , keeping the stake and small profit and get the rest as free bets)
for a fella whose publicity etc. Is great, the app is appalling to use. Miles off the other major bookies I used. I will hopefully take my free bet money and shive it into my 365 account!

yup an absolute joke of an app.
They ran an ad campaign recently saying they carried out a survey and their app was voted the best one.Obviously they used a voting system bought from Robert Mugabe.

Think there are some very overpriced teams in the loi tomorrow.
Bray 11/5 at home to bohs - Bray on a solid run and only lost 1-0 to both pats and dundalk having won 5 of the last 7
Drogheda 23/10 away to galway - Both teams in horrible form but galway are missing close to 10 first team players and the bench will be made up of a lot of u19s who have just signed less than a week and would be nowhere near premier level yet
Limerick 13/10 at home to longford - limerick have won three on the bounce which included last firdays victory over cork. Will be desperate for the win to keep their survival chances alive

Ludden, walsh, cantwell and shanahan all have late fitness tests on monday so if they play will be nowhere near 100% as they are being rushed back
Connolly cunningham and o connoll are definately out
Horgan and another player are apparently suspended (was posted on the galway forum)
9 players out with four players being rushed back as 6 u19s have signed first team contracts to try and make up the numbers.

The only problem is drogheda are no great shakes themselves. The dundalk game against galway on firday could be an embarrassing scoreline

One thing I've learned from watching league of Ireland for years is never to believe the info coming out of clubs or in the papers regarding injured players.dont know how many times I've read in the paper that so an so is injured next of all to see the player running out on the pitch.the clubs just release crap to papers etc to throw the opposition of the sent.

Paddy Power have been taking bets on the Carlow Premier League this season.

St Pats at 1/2 against Castle Rangers are a steal!!

Double it up with New Oak at 1/3 away to Killeshin is probably the best bet.

My own club are away to Crettyard at 7s, myself and 4 or 5 others are missing so hardly surprised we're such a big price.

Leicester are too against Bournemouth.

I'd even take top of League 1 Gillingham against a Peterborough all over the place.

Could get a very good 3-fold out of that if it comes of.

Seen them beat Mullingar Town 3-2 there two weeks ago, al beit they were two down and a red card changed the game. An intimidating place to go all the same LOL Bit of a joke theres only 7 teams in the league Dead It will be between them two again anyways with Willow coming out on top.

Id say so. Peters striker went to Willow and centre back also went. Big loss.

Chelsea, Man City, Real Madrid, Barcelona all at home and winning this weekend.
The accum is only 5/4 so which of them do ya go greedy and put in minus1.
Probably the Spanish ones.

What's the point in putting in Ireland,  1/33.

Croatia minus 1
Wales
Belgium

Backed Wales straight tonight @ 4/5

Will do Scotland tomorrow night @evens

then am tempted by a treble of
Pub team 8/13
Scotland -1 11/4
And romania DNB 4/5

Have never backed the pub team before and can't see myself wanting them to win

Sporting life accums have been doing great since start of season, land twice since season has started. Their 4 selections for tomorrow are below:

Wigan to beat Chesterfield (Sky Bet League 1)

Wigan are one of the League 1 title favourites and look a big price to win at Chesterfield.

S****horpe to beat Blackpool (Sky Bet League 1)

Blackpool have only one point from five games and are a long way short of S****horpe's quality.

Plymouth to beat Stevenage (Sky Bet League 2)

Plymouth were part of last weekend's winning Sporting Life Accumulator and get the vote again when they travel to Stevenage.

Wycombe to beat Hartlepool (Sky Bet League 2)

Wycombe have home advantage against Hartlepool and have to be backed.

The Dutch have bounced back with a win after their last thirteen qualifying losses and Turkey have one point from their last six games at home against higher ranked sides. 6/5 available on the away win

Wales don't need much of an explanation with a win today sending them to France next summer. 17/20 against a side they beat 0-3 in the away fixture looks good to me.

Same goes for Iceland up against a team with one point. Fancy them to win by a couple so take the -1 at evens.

all of the above in a €25 treble with 365 at <7/1

I did back that Iceland -1, I did my research and they have won comfortably at home to Turkey and other teams, so it wasn't for want of previous results but probably as a draw was all they needed.

Yeah, pretty disastrous night. Was confident of two out of three and especially the Iceland one. Double blow with the Dutch...as soon as I saw them losing knew Iceland only needed the draw and bet was probably beaten before ko

Crettyard & Parkville double is around 8/11 (cert)

My own club are playing Hannover (league runners up and double cup winners of last season) Hannover are 2/5 which is probably fair given our dreadful start to the season. We are impossible to judge as we haven't had anywhere near a full strength team.

New Oak are 8/15 away to Balltinglass who are after having a super start to the season. The draw at 14/5 is really tempting.

If I was doing a treble I would pop Crettyard, Parkville and Hannover in it. Balltinglass are very dangerous, "but" New Oak definitely have the players to go there and win.

Big double Cretty and Parkville.

Mid sized treble Cretty, Parkville and Hannover.

Small sized accum Cretty, Parkville, Hannover and New Oak.

@Max, tbh mate our manager wants us to play out the back the whole even though we have a number of players who simply aren't good enough to do so, yet he persists with it so hence why we've lost 5 from 5.

What are the rules, generally, for tennis betting if one of the players retires due to injury?

Posted By: the_walls

With Paddy Power, if the first set is completed the bet is settled as a winner in favour of the player who goes through to the next round. If the first set has not been completed the bet is voided.

Is that right? I always thought paddys, Boyles and most bookies just voided the bet no matter what stage of the match it's at. Think betfair pay out as a winner /loser when a player retires injured.

Thanks. Good to know for future reference. The only way to be sure about tennis betting rules or any other sport is to google the bookie and the sport rules. Usually easy to find. Had to do it myself with bet365 and basketball recently. A lot of them have slightly different rules.

What happens if you bet on a tennis match in running and then a player retires?

I put money on Ivo Karlovic last night, he had just lost the first set to Taylor Fritz. I backed him just as the second set was starting, he won the second set and then his opponent started getting treatment from the doctor at the start of the third set. Karlovic broke his serve and was 3-1 up in the final set and I cashed out as I feared if the other boy retired the bet could be void?

(the cashout was only £4 less than what I was going to win anyway)

With Paddy Power it would still follow the rule I have mentioned above. You would have been paid out in full on Karlovic if you had not cashed out.

Was just thinking that if you saw a player struggling with an injury during a game you could lump on his opponent in-play, in the hope that he retires. Thought the bookies would have a rule to prevent that.

No rule against that, you're simply betting on an in running game. No if it is really obvious they might suspend trading for a bit.

Ya, I'd say they would suspend betting while they suss out the situation. It happens a good bit that a player is struggling during tennis matches. I had Halep to beat Keys during Wimbledon, did the bet before the match started. In the final set Keys was playing on one leg and finished out the match barely moving. I didn't check the in running but it must have been suspended for all of that 3rd set or else they just priced Halep at ridiculously short odds.

CORAL - If a player retires at any point in the match after the first set has been completed, then bets on the player who retired are losers, whilst bets on the opponent are winners. All set betting bets are void. All other bets will be void unless a result has already been determined.

Sportsbet - In the case of retirements/disqualifications, all bets on completed sets and service games stand.

SBOBET - All bets will be VOID if a match has not been completed due to a player’s retirement or disqualification.

Agree with both of the previous commenters. They'll likely to suspend betting.

Carlow League Soccer

(Season Opener Tonight)

New Oak (3rd) are 10/11 at home to Hanover Harps 2/1 (2nd) last season, New Oak look very strong this year and have a massive squad. I reckon they're a good price at 10/11 to beat Hanover who are struggling with injuries and lads away on holidays and work.

Parkville are 4/7 to beat St Pats 2/1 (they're in disarray) who only appointed a new manager last night and have had to scramble a team together to even compete in the Carlow Premier this season which is made up of lads in their mid to late 30's and youths.

St Fiaccs (the club I played for) and now manage since July of this year, finished 8th of 9 teams last season but we're flying it and have brought in some excellent young players. We're playing Parkville in our first game of the season and I'll report back tonight on how Parkville are shaping up to give people the heads up before having a punt on Sunday.

On Sunday we're missing our 2 main centre midfielders (captain is on hols and the other is in Qatar until October working) but we're only going to get stronger as we've 3 or 4 senior footballers coming back next week from gaelic.

Crettyard at 2/9 who are the current league champions are away to Baltinglass tonight who are priced at a massive 13/2, Cretty supposedly are missing 7 or 8 players due to Gaelic and suspensions.  Baltinglass at 13/5 win and draw which is worth a small bet for the price alone. Cretty will probably still do enough to win but honestly Baltinglass is a rotten place to go and try win!

New Oak 2/7 to beat St Pats tomorrow is a sure thing.

Parkville at home to Baltinglass are 4/7, both sides have lost their opening 2 matches but Balto are shocking at the back (conceded 11 in 2 games)  and really Parkville should be too good for them.

Unbelievably the team I manage St Fiaccs are 11/1 to beat Crettyard the current league champions!

We won our first game of the season and have more or less a full strength team minus our left back, now Crettyard are a super outfit and it will take a massive effort for our lads to pull a win out of the bag against them but there's massive value in us as at 11/1, draw is 8/1 and us double chance is 4/1.

Supposedly Cretty are missing a good few players too!

Newcastle to beat Man City at home on Wednesday in the Carabao cup at 21/10

City will play a young team
Saw a quote from Pep there he said he won’t be wasting 1% on the carabao cup this year

Newcastle are a bit shagged themselves though after their midweek exploits vs Milan. Granted today was a stroll but they did lose Barnes to injury. Big CL game coming up next week home to PSG also. I think they'll rotate heavily!

City are in a similar position to Liverpool a few years ago in this competition, they’ve the world club championship in December at the same time as the quarter finals
That was the time Liverpool had to play a total youth side as their first team were away at the WCC

I think they’ll throw this

Thumbs UpIn the end they didn't play many youth players, but from Pep's comments before hand and body language after, and the fact that he didn't bring on Haaland when losing, I don't think he's too bothered

Have Afolabi to be top scorer at 25/1 from the start of the season, four players on 13 goals and one on 12 at the moment. Wonder what the bookies will do if it stays the way it is?

1/4 the odds maybe. You’ll be paid on a 6/1

If there is three tied you will get €86.67 back for every €10 you had on. €65 if there is 4 tied. €130 if 2 tied Thumbs Up

Lost a bet builder because of Porto's last minute goal yesterday. Being able to see your profit vs. loss on Paddy Power now really puts into perspective how unlucky I am at betting.

Those BTTS bets are a killer.

What was your bet?

I lost a bet builder a few weeks ago when Liverpool beat Newcastle at home.
TAA to have a shot on target beat me. It was the game where Salah missed a penalty and the rebound fell to Trent 6 yards out and he blazed over LOL

They're good for a few quid for a bit of interest in a match

Under 11.5 corners, Draw, Over 3.5 cards, Wendell 2 fouls, Saka fouled twice, Under 5.5 home corners, Over 2.5 away corners.

Lost a lot more money last season thanks to Ramsdale's masterclass in the last few minutes against Liverpool.

I haven't won a bet builder once. One thing always lets me down. Highly frustrating and bad for the aul blood pressure.

So far this week I've lost bets because of last minute goals by Porto, Vizela, Banfield and Kilmarnock.

Probably shouldn’t have back against those teams.

Me and my mates used to a thing with 8 of us where we all pick a leg, has to be 1/2 or more and make an accum out of it, go a €5 in each a week and throw it on usually before LOI of a Friday. Anyone who gets it wrong misses being in the following week. Anyone interested in it on here? Feel like there’s a few who would fancy getting a good pick in each week…won a few of them and it was always a decent payout.

Was chatting to someone about bets and they showed me their profit and loss. Something like 500 euro profit.

Me trying to hide my rage. Angry
