Biggest game between these 2 great sides for quite some time, a Liverpool win and they will be in the top 4 for possibly the first time this season(open to correction on that) with serious momentum, a United win gives them a nice cushion for 4th and you'd have to fancy them to make 4th place then, really looking forward to this match.

it will be interesting to see if united performance was turning the corner or were Tottenham just that bad. without the spurs performance I would have said Liverpool banker but no so sure now. Liverpool were poor last night

A draw is a good result for United .Playing away to Pool form team in the league, who have 26 from the last 30 points .Pressure on Pool to win but this game isnt the make or break game people are saying.8 games left after Sunday so plenty of twists and turns yet.
2-1 to United .

This will be LVG's most eagerly awaited team selection for United.

A big one for Rodgers too with the Gerrard factor.

Newcastle United? West Ham United? Leeds United?

Can see Fellaini and Mata keeping their place in the side, both were very good on Sunday, surely Rafael needs to start ahead of Valencia RB, he's bloody awful there.

A United win will mean Liverpools great form since Xmas will most likely all have been in vain.

Liverpool must win this match to overtake United. Psychologically that would be a big turning point in my opinion.

I reckon it will be the same team as against Spurs .Rafael doesnt seem to be part of LVG 's plans. The only changes I could see are Di Maria or Rojo getting a game instead of Mata and Jones .

The big one tomorrow. With the results today the main thing is to not lose from a pool perspective. Utd would be happy with a draw. Would not be a bad result for pool but a win would 'be massive

Have to work today, so i could have next Sunday off(which is way more important anyway), but part of me is glad that I'll miss the game as i think Liverpool will win and win with ease. Apart from last weekend United haven't really performed and i don't think Liverpool will give them a chance to do so today with their high intensity, high tempo game. If Sturridge gets half the chances Sterling got at OT, Liverpool will win this by 2 or 3. I'll reckon it'll be 3-1 Liverpool but christ i hope im wrong.

Agree with you there Andy, while utd have not been great to watch they seem to keep managing to get the results

We need to approach this with the same intensity we did against City and more, a win here will be massive and could derail either teams season

Saw the Liverpool line up first and I felt a little more optimistic because Sterling or Lallana will taking up the RWB position. Both are weak defenisvely and it also limits their freedom to attack. Young was very good against Spurs and he formed a good partnership with Blind down United's left side an area where i believe United will create alot of their chances from today. But that optimism was quickly diminished once i saw Smalling and Jones together again at centre half. There will be goals in this game but i fear Liverpool will score more.

Much the same as Monday night, Gerrard will be coming on, whether he will be as impressive as his cameo the other night remains to be seen, and what role he plays. Not often Liverpool have to had chase a lead in their good run. They need to play the game on their own terms.

No movement off the ball across the pitch. Lallana was surrounded by 3 players in the corner just before HT whistle before he got support. More alarmingly, its happening in their own half too.

Fortunate that United have only created one chance from their dominance, unfortunate that they f**king took it.

If Liverpool were at OT, 2-0 up and man up they would be trying to destroy United.

'Liverpool didn't really show up'

quote of the day.

Soft first goal, really so much space liverpool tut tut tut
Mata took his chances and brought it home..

Ahh well!

Liverpool have a hell of a lot less money on the pitch.

My husband managed to feck up our tv - So I had to run down the road to a bar and missed 'you will never walk alone' which me and the small fella always sing in full voice together.

Meh! not one of the more memorable clashes.

The warning signs were there in the game against Swansea. Unfortunately that first half performance and the first 35 seconds of the 2nd left Liverpool with too much to do. United were very good in the first and not so much in the second but they've got a huge 3 points to their cause.
