besides drink and footie

1. Take the Furnicular (location is near Betys) up to Mtatsminda - nice view of the town esp. in evening

2. Take cable car to old church over Old Town (location is Avlabari - 5 mins from Old Town)

3. Vake Park (location is 15 mins in taxi from Old Town) - for a dander to get out of city - small bar called El Barito nearby - cheap as chips

4. Custpa - lake on top of mountain (20 mins from Old Town) - nice views - beer gardens / terraces, Ethnographic museum is near there - they have actual Georgian houses from different regions from past times

5. Visit Sameba - big Orthodox church just above Presidential Palace and close to the Sheraton

This Betsy Hotel you mentioned. Is this favorite hotel of Irish?
