I blame Garth Brookes for that utter waste of sperm Nathan Carter. The absolute worst kind of music going.

The thing is some country music is actually alright. Not this bollocks though that we seem to listen to in Ireland. I tend to spell this variety of Country without the 'o' ...

Like any music in my view there is the good stuff and the sh*te stuff.
I would listen to country music artitsts such as

Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Ryan Adams, Emmylou Harris, Handsome Family, Wilco and Gram Parsons.

But then there is a huge amount of sh*te country music eps a lot of the Nashville sh*te and then the worst type of stuff is the crap that comes out of Westmeath, Longford and Offally.

Well spoken and articulate but as an analyst of the game, a bit bland for my liking.

As a player, he was a good striker with Spurs in the early 80s and his duet with Steve Archibald was always in tune.

It should be noted that Will Leahy started this rumour on 2fm yesterday and is only guessing that it's Garth Brooks as Aiken Promotions said in their announcement that a big name solo act will be announced Monday so it could be Robbie Williams, The Boss,etc....

Well said milla I'm a fan of all types of music and know for a fact that il be going to this. Apparently tubridy let it slip on his show tht it is garth brooks who's being announced. Be some demand for tickets unlike a large majority of other musicians who come here every year

How is expressing a view about music being a snob Milla.  Explain that one.   Are you saying that we all have to like Garth Brooks or that we are are not allowed to say he is a bag of sh*te without being accused of being a snob.

The facts are that people who like Garth Brooks should have their voting rights taken away as well as being castrated to protect the future of human civilisation.  Wink

Which is my point. It will be blue wicked and huzzar and red all day long. I know my local will be infested by lost culchies looking for Harp and Beamish.

Isn't there a field outside the Pale that can be used and safe us all the mini crime wave that will accompany this mess.

I think I will put in a planning objection purely on fashion grounds.

You'd make an absolute killing in Tyrone. The checked shirts, Suzuki jacket and Lee jeans look never really went away...

All topped off with brown shoes and a pair of O'Neill GAA socks, munchie bastids!! Those Donegal lads are worse though. I'll double my money comfortably double my money on them. The burger vans will be wasting their time anyway it will be full of tin foil wrapped ham sandwiches and barnbrac.

More details of the concert arrangements are on here for those planning on going www.savagemunchie.com

RTID is right, it'll be Mullah Central for those two dates, smell of Benjy rising over Dublin will be palpable.
It'll be the biggest Line Dance in the history of the world.

Might book a weekend away that weekend.

ITs due to the economy of scale.

Brooks is playing 2 nights in Croke Park to a capacity of roughly 140,000 over 2 nights.

The Backstreet Boys are playing the 02 which holds 14,000 roughly.

Surprised that Garth Brooks is not more expensive as they usually screw the older crowds.

But GB is selling to the lowest socio economic group in Ireland - the landless peasant.
This is a BIG expense for the milkbottle crowd.

garth broos has always had the final say on the price of his tickets. He likes to cap them at a reasonable price and in terms of concerts in Ireland €65 is great value (like I bought 2 tickets for Michael buble in O2 last year and cost €208) hotels are fairly cashing in on this though we booked Bewleys at the airport for €178 (for 5 of us) 10 minutes later the same hotel cost €328
