Already a Ligue 1 thread here. Brilliant record. Courtois went 10 home games in a row with out conceding last season which was pretty impressive.

They love their low scoring games in Ligue 1 most seasons.

Coupe de la Ligue final on BT Sport Europe this evening.... and the referee is miked up. Unusual.

I don't speak great French so I don't know exactly what he is saying (and I'm not watching it: I just flicked over for a minute) but it is the first time I've seen it in football.

Cracking team that Jardim has built there. Surprised that Barca didn't try and get the manager themselves and with that take Mbappe also. Can see Mbappe being sold for 100 million pounds either this summer or next.

The most bizarre red card I've ever seen at Nantes vs PSG tonight.

Nantes player accidentally runs into the referee and knocks him over, referee kicks him back and sends him off.

Looks like Leonardo Jardim could be on his way out of Monaco fairly soon. In fairness, it was always going to be so difficult for them after all the talent they’ve sold in recent years

He has worked miracles since getting his job back.

Monaco's injury crisis is slowly but surely getting better also, they should stay up with ease given the talent in their squad.

I know it's easy to pin all the blame on Henry (he had rotten luck with the amount of injuries he had to deal with) but still, they didn't look anyway organized and no doubt his ego didn't exactly help a fragile bunch of players when they were low on confidence.

It's almost certainly the worst miss of all time, purely on the basis that all other horror misses would not have resulted in goals had they simply been left well alone by the offender.

Posted By: The Huntacha
Date Posted: 08 Apr 2019 at 4:48pm
I just don't know what he was even trying. At least with the misses by Kanu, Rosenthal, Torres and Giggs against Arsenal in the FA Cup in 2003, you knew what they were trying to do. The movement he made just made absolutely no sense whatsoever.

I think desperation played a part in it, for a player who was brought in to be no more than back up, yet he's played a decent amount of games and is still struggling no end to score despite the quality of service being provided.

We've seen in it happen with Benteke taking that penalty off Milivojevic and in turn missing, Nani that time he robbed Ronaldo's goal bound attempt (then ruled out for offside when Nani put it in) etc

Choupo Moting falls into that category imo.
