Was above at the game last night. Dundalk bossed with with short passing, Sheriff could only lump it up front and tried to catch us out with the gail force winds. Sheriff got away with plenty of off the ball incidents. Anto Murphy was sent off for headbutting Towell after a 50/50 challenge with another of their players. He should have went for a headbutt earlier in the game which the ref somehow missed 5 metres in front of him. Was all us in the second half against their ten men, just couldnt score. They again should have had somebody sent off for a stamp near the end and then another was sent off in injury time for two yellows for verbally abusing the linesman within a min. Mark Quigley and Colin Hawkins were in attendance!

Rovers beat Drogheda 5-1 in Tallaght tonight. McCabe, Walters, Kenna, Kilduff and Zayed with the goals. Nice to see players from all over the park scoring goals. Ryan Brennan the best player on the pitch I thought. Zayed put in a good shift before he went off.

UCD 2:2 Shelbourne  aet  3-1 pens  4th rd. (last 16)

Shels were unlucky not to got through.
Two quality strikes from Dylan Cashin and Adam O'Connor were the Shels goals, they forced UCD gk Mark McGinley into a lot of saves, including a first half penalty.  Samir Belhout and Gary Burke both equalised for UCD.  Longford Town at home next.

Bray had two disallowed, both wrongly it looked like to me, one for offside and one for a foul on the keeper and we'd scored directly from a corner. Graham Kelly went off in a leg brace with oxygen for bray while prender went off for bohs with a knee injury but looked precautionary.

If I were bohs I'd be worried anough about where goals were to come from, was happy enough with how Bray shaped up.

Thought the pitch in dalyer was in a bit of state. Owen Heary was in the stands as well, odd to see him in the Sligo gear.

edit; you'd notice Zambra and Izzy gone already for Bray, could do with one more up front, Scully appears to be captain, would have given it to Cassidy myself, easily our best

Cheers Nvidic. Didn't know about the two disallowed. Hope Kelly makes a quick recovery. The Leinster Senior Cup has been much downgraded in people's minds over time but it's a nice attainable trophy for the likes of Longford & Drogheda to win and it helps breath confidence early in the season. I would like to see a mini-tournament where the winners of each Provincial Tournament would play each other in a short round-robin, but there are probably enough games as it is. To me tho the Provincial Senior Cup's have more historical importance than "League Cups" the rationale for which I still fail to understand.

I've no idea why LOI clubs chose to/are allowed to compete in provincial cups.
It's a lose/lose situation.
They will be ridiculed if they get knocked out by a non league side and no one gives a sh*te if they win it.
They also make the chances of non league sides winning it slim to none and those are the side who would love to win it.

Rovers only played Saturday which I am sure was a factor too. Yes you've got Friday but you hardly came to lose did you.
Which is my point. Neither team really gave a damn about it, two reserve sides.

Just had a look there, it is third oldest tournament still going in Ireland and I reckon about 9th oldest worldwide. Pity that it is now an afterthought.

Enjoyable match last night despite the conditions, better crowd than i expected.
Shels deserved their victory in the end though we could have been out of sight before they equalised with the shots that came off the woodwork. Shocking tackle for the shels red card

We finished the match with 9 U'19s

Carlow and District FL link on Google satellite map.  The caption from carlowsoccer states Killeen Road, Crettyard, Carlow.  The very same Satellite map labels Crettyard as Co. Laois (with Co Kilkenny the bordering county).
Crettyard are Carlow & District FL maybe that's where the labelling comes from.
