Yes,  I was thinking that myself.
I'm also happy for Norwich FC as an antidote to the Urban Threat way of thinking.

Gave Norwich fans some great days out in the EPL before it unfortunately went pear shaped. He has massive coaching experience behind him between Spurs, Newcastle and Norwich and deserves to be still involved.

Could be a tough gig trying to build confidence back into a Brighton team whose league form is atrocious but CH got off to a flyer today at Brentford in the Cup

Would love to see him as manager in the future.

He was asked about the Ireland job last week. He said he is totally focussed on the Brighton job at the moment but said he wouldn't rule it in the long term.

Brighton on a good run at the minute but they won't get promoted, they will do well to be in the play off's at the end of the season IMO. Hughton never inspires me with confidence have to say, personally would not want him to take the Ireland job in the near future anyway.

Decent manager. Thought he was doing good at Newcastle.

Strikes me as a brilliant man behind the scenes but wants nothing to do with the media side of management. All that's said about the man tells you he is a brilliant motivator and a man management type of guy. But when it comes to being on front of the camera, he can come across as quite dour and perhaps wouldn't inspire.

Nonetheless, hope he keeps up the form at Brighton.

Hughton always comes across in interviews as a very modest and unassuming guy. I`m pleased for him at Brighton and it`s great to see his side top the league, considering that many pundits tipped Brighton for relegation before the season began.

Personally I don`t see them winning the Championship or even finishing Top 6. It`s early days with some 40 odd games still to be played and Brighton don`t have the strength in depth to compete right through the heavy winter fixture list, with games on Tuesday nights and Saturdays.

The Championship is the most competitive league on this planet imo. Shock results are the norm as the clubs are all capable of beating one another. Look at Cardiff, on a nice little unbeaten run, and then along come bottom side Rotherham who beat them 2-1. This goes on right through the season and it`s what makes that league so interesting for us football fans.

Another great win for Brighton yesterday after being 2 0 down against Charlton they won 3.2.

Back on top of the league and the only unbeaten team in the English leagues this season.

Fair play to Chris he is doing a cracking job. I'd love to see him manage Ireland one day.

11th in the premier in his first season and 5 points above the relegation zone with 5 games left when sacked, hardly abysmal for what's essentially a yo yo club.

The playoffs are a bit of a lottery as has been seen in previous years.

He was a gee hair away from automatic promotion. 46 games played and lose out by just 2 goals. Joint top scorers in the division.

Typical case of knocking your own.

Everywhere reporting that they were kept up after last night, while very unlikely, Southampton can still finish a point above them as they've still 3 games to play.

Brighton still to play both City & Liverpool away too.

One of Southampton's games is against Swansea so at least one of those two is dropping points. Hence Brighton are mathematically safe.

No, theyre not LOL Thats my point. Theyre not mathematically safe just yet. While highly unlikely, if Southampton with their 3 remaining games and Brighton lose their 2 they could still be relegated.

No they can’t be relegated because one of those games is against Swansea who can only finish on a maximum of 39 if they lost to Southampton Confused

Look at the table again. Brighton are on 40.

West Brom (28 points, 2 games to play) cannot overtake Brighton.
Stoke (33 points as it stands beating Palace, 1 game to play) cannot overtake Brighton.
With Swansea (33 points, 3 games to play) to play Southampton (32 points, 3 games to play), they cannot both overtake Brighton - as in, one of those two will finish on less than 40.

If Swansea win, Southampton can only get to 38. If Southampton win, Swansea can only get to 39. If it is a draw, Swansea can only get to 40 and Southampton to 39. Regardless, 40 points is enough to beat the lowest finisher of those two.

All that being the case, Brighton are mathematically safe. If three teams below are incapable of getting 40 points, which is the case, they're safe.
