has steve finnan dropped off the face of the earth ? since portsmouth got relegated a couple of seasons back he hasnt been heard of.
I know he was released at the end of that season but i cant believe a decent championship club didnt snap him up a bit like steve carr at birmingham.
top top player who was one of portsmouths better performers the year they went down..
if anyone knows what hes at please let me know..

Good question! I suppose he was getting quite injury prone, and is now 35, so clubs must not have wanted to take a chance on him.

He retired after the FA Cup final in 2010

I don't quite see how you cherish the memory of the dead by killing another million. And, this is not combat, it's an act of lunacy, General Sir.

Personally, I think you're a f**king idiot.

Anyone know what he's up to these days?

No idea. He did his coaching badges AFAIK and was 'taking a break' from the game the last I heard anything of him.

Used to love Finnan, top top player, mr dependable in the same mould of Denis Irwin.

Yeah would wonder what Steve is at. A classy full back. Jesus we were blessed with RB talent during Mick's time in charge.

I don't know why he popped into my head but he just did. Any idea on what the Limerick man is up to these days?
There has been virtually nothing about him in the past few years

Top player he was, was he a sub in the first match of the World Cup in 02?

2 mistakes that cost Liverpool the title in 08/09

Not replacing Robbie Keane in January, leaving the continuous nightmare that was David Ngog to deputise for Torres when injured Angry

And the biggest one imo, was not that Rafa chose Arbeloa ahead of Finnan but that he sold him before the season started Thumbs Down

Correct.
Best RF in the EPL thatt season and McCarthy left him out in favour of Gary Kelly/McAteer.

Same as he'd done v Holland in the qualifier which nearly cost us when Kelly red-carded for kicking Overmars too many times.

Finnan comes on and assists the goal.

Kelly just softened up Overmars so he wasnt able to track back when Finnan got forward for the assist. A wonderful piece of brinkmanship by Mick, as if............

A masterstroke from McCarthy that got us to the World Cup Clap less of that crap about Roy Keane damaging Overmars and dragging us to the World Cup Wink

Absolutely. Fantastic player. So dependable. We really had 3 quality right full backs back then in Kelly, Finnan & Carr.

He is/was involved in a property investment and development company with his brother called Finnan Developments Limited. Unfortunately it looks like that company has gone into liquidation.

Recently signed Limerick player Shane Duggan is related to him, his mother and Finnan are cousins. Shane used to live up the road from me at home.

Selling off some of his football stuff. Sad to see.

Was it mentioned before he was involved with property?

Greed has won, big finance has won. Whatever small role elite clubs still play in the local communities from which they grew is dwarfed now by their position as global brands.
