Very hard one. I love Marcelo, he's my dawg and still only 23. Lahm is a top top defender, such solidness but i gotta go for my dawg Ashley Cole. The chap has been at the top of his game for years now. Top, Top TOP! defender.

Hardest one by far so far.

Marcelo has been exceptional under Mourinho.
Lahm has been so consistent for years now.
Pereira's Copa America and treble last year.
I don't think Cole, Evra or Abi are the players they were a few years back.

Pereira for me as he had the perfect year last year. Terrific player.

Ashley Cole a model pro on & off the field , who never caused a days trouble in his life what a man LOL

It was a tough call but i voted for Cole because ive seen him way more than Lahm

I'm not voting for this because i reckon it's Ashley Cole. It's physically impossible to press the button.

67% points to games ratio at the last Euro's (better than Portugal's)

Voting closed at 9.30.

Lahm won.

Center backs next. Think I'll have to put up one poll with the 8 defenders who ever wins that is one cb. And then do another poll after with the other 7 lads.

Any suggestions as to who should be on the cb's shortlist?

Vidic, Nesta, Pique, Ferdinand, Silva, Puyol, Lugano?, Lucio, Terry?, Carvalho?.

Only saw this now - very little to chose between Cole and Lahm. Reckon Lahm is slightly more in his prime than Cole however. He's a classic full back and worthy winner. Clap

Definitely Kompany invovled!

Also, don't think there's much need for two seperate polls if you're just going to use the same players in each one, is there? Just select the top two from a single poll of eight!

What is the issue there lads,
Mertesecker - been playing for top clubs in europe and playing for probably the 3rd best team in international football at the moment and all thats before you start on his positional play and reading of the game.
Jagielka - does this lad not get england games now ahead of Terry and Rio? He is brilliant positionally and a great tackler and great passer of the ball
Luiz - pretty much everything the same as Jagielka but with a more physical approach(and except the enlgand caps obviously)
Kjaer - so Barlow knows more than most of the top coach's in europe who have been after him for the last few years(I even remember some football club in england with an M16 postcode being heavily linked with him). Have you even seen him play Barlow?

As usual with these polls if they aint playing for man u, real madrid or barca then there's no point even bothering putting them up as to be honest these 3 are better c/b's than Mathijsen, Burdisso or Cannavaro yet neither of ya's bothered with your EmbarrassedConfused smiley's about them, why was that lads?

Terry is england captain you saying he would get in ahead of him????

Jagielka isn't fit to lace ferdinands boots- he would never be picked ahead of ferdinand

Mertesacker is a plodder, any striker with pace will slaughter him

the winner of this poll plays for *drumroll* Bayern Munich Dead

Barlow - Tribal asked for other centre backs to be considered for his list so I stuck up some who I thought he could throw into the mix, all extremely good centre backs. Should they be on the list? Well that is up to the person doing the poll to decide. Notice you didnt contribute to his request. What you've chosen to do though is mock mainly the epl options I put up, why is that? Is it because they dont play for a certain team?

Realised that lad LOLLOL but in reality the only other player that has a chance outside of them 3 teams of making the team is Robben given the way people will vote

Agree with Phillyk - most people know f**k all about teams around Europe and beyond, including myself - hence why I don't bother voting.

If Kilbane was there I'd have gone for him but I'd have to settle for Lahm, he is a bit younger
