Couple of people just landed in to work from Portadown there (beside Lurgan), heavy snow and traffic very slow. You should get there alright although I would give yourself plenty of time getting there

Larne often gets a mention, rightfully so, but as its by the sea it has at least one redeemable feature.

The same cannot be said for Strabane. A god awful sh*te pit.

Strabane would be my closest town-great spot back in the day for being underage and getting into Katy Dalys for a bit of badness. I remember my form teacher at school was doing the bar in it, some look on her face when we landed up at 15 looking jugs of fat frog

Larne is a sh*thole, but it does have the North Antrim coast road right there, so there are some redeeming features indeed.

Strabane is worse than my local town of Dungannon, and that is saying something. Lurgan is pretty crap but it's no Strabane.

Dungiven has scenery on its side, so it's not the worst.

Strabane is the "winner" of the golden turd.

However, Newcastle, Ballycastle and Cushendall are all nice enough spots.

East Tyrone in general is oretty grim. I stopped there once in Coalisland to buy petrol, eat a sandwich a smoke a feg. I am pretty sure the IRA were watching me. A car was definitely spying on me and it tailed me the whole way to Ardboe.

About 16 yrs ago I was in Guildford in my Republic of Eire reg car.  I had a few hours to waste.  I parked the car directly in front of the library (which is basically almost smack bang in the middle of the town main street or maybe just off it) at around 1pm on a Saturday.  I went away for an hour or so just having a look around basically.  When I came back there was a cop car with 2 coppers in it very close to my car.  I pulled out and drove back towards the motorway and they followed me for at least 2-3 km before leaving me alone.

Strangely, it didn't actually always used to be like that. During the 70s, was actually quite peaceful around the 12th.
