One last hurrah in the next 2 years i reckon BSM before he potentially disbands the E Street Band Cry and goes solo for a few dark/moody albums

He loves playing here so could happen but reckon 2011 more likely.

I'm not an overly emotional fella but I'd be lying if I said that I didn't get a lump in my throat when I listened to The Wish on Springsteen on Broadway. When you hear that song, having first listened to the introduction he gives it, which in itself is 5 or 6 minutes long, it's quite something.

Recently watched the movie Blinded by the Light. Its about a young Muslin lad in Bury in the late 80s who discovers the Boss and it changes his life. Based on a true story and worth a watch if you're a Brice fan

Never really got Bruce Springsteen. The very definition of dad rock. I always think of Reagan's (mis)use of Born In The USA at his campaign rallies and The Rising and the neo-con response to 9/11.

Doesn't do anything for me.

Well then tickle me pink I focking love Dad rock

But my own personal interpretation of Dad rock would be Status Quo And Steely Dan and the likes.

I've never really minded Dire Straits, nor understood why they were singled out as particularly unfashionable. But maybe that's because my uncle played with them in their early days.

Ah here! Dire Straits is appalling stuff! Spend five minutes with a Dire Straits fan and you throw yourself out the pub window! Listen to 'Romeo and Julie and it will be the second floor one. 'Local Hero' is a decent tune though.
Dismissing 'Steely Dan as just 'dad rock' is unfair though. It is probably a compliment to Status Quo though, even if it is hard not to enjoy their one song when full of light ale.

Making Movies is a terrific album. I wouldnt call myself a fan by any stretch but some of their tunes are great. Brother in Arms, So far away, Skateaway, Local Hero, Tunnel of Love and you cannot throw out Sultans of Swing.

But some awful stuff. Twisting by the pool LOL

I would throw 'Sultans of Swing' so far that it would never see the light of day again. Having had a stepdad(****) who was a fan didn't help. Bizarrely, he otherwise had very decent musical tastes and introduced me to the Delta blues. I suppose we all have our weak spots.LOL

Apologies PM but i am the opposite because my own aul fella is a bit of a Knopfler fan LOL

And being a guitar fan i appreciate the inimitable hook of the tune and MK treating it as an extension of his arm.

Yeah i agree. Poor effort and a poor choice for a single.

He has had some stinkers. Darlington County and the likes.

That aside, i think Western Stars is an excellent album. Chasing Wild Horses is just magic.

He rolled into a pub in Rathangan last week for a lock in ,Mate of mine sent me on a video of the Boss having a scoop and belting out a few tunes.

He has relatives in Rathangan and supposedly Tom Hanks does too ...Rathangan has a vast talent pool that also includes Brian Dowling and Jedward LOL

Was at the gig myself last night. What a show.

Didn't play thunder road or the river (and some others) bit didn't matter in the slightest. An unbelievable energetic set with belter after belter.

The sound was superb and the band were absolutely on point as always.
That's the sixth time I've seen him. My absolute favourite.

Im convinced that the Letter to You album would be considered an all time great album if it was released by someone else.

He just gets better and better and better. Amazing gig last night, probably my favourite of anytime I have seen him.
Just constant song after song no breaks. Was about 50mins into gig before he said a word.

I fear this might be the last time we'll get to see him and the band do a stadium tour. I wish they could go on forever because seeing them live is such a life affirming thing (great to see the young lad in the story above thought the same 😂😂😂).

Tickets were €130 but they were worth every cent. The man never dials it in.

I'd say Bruce on his own might have a fee solo tours tours left in the bag

Darkness on The Edge of Town is 45 years old today! Strong argument to be made that it is, pound for pound, his best album. Not a weak song on it.

So many bangers on there; Darkness, Racing in The Streets, Prove it All Night, Badlands, The Promise Land

Hard to argue. Born in the USA has its fair share of great tracks also

My favourite album of the Boss is Darkness.

There's a great documentary about the making of it.

Born in the USA is a phenomenal album in its own right, but for me those first 4 Springsteen albums are the backbone to everything he's done. Born in the USA is very '80s'...lots of synthesisers etc. (Not a bad thing!) But those first 4 albums are so raw.

Tunnel Of Love is Bruce's best album.  Sparce production compared to Born In The USA of reflective songs which, with the benefit of hindsight, chronicle the collapse of his first marriage.

Not every year but we're always included on every tour, usually with multiple dates.

That was the Easiest I've ever found getting tickets for a big gig on ticketmaster. Was looking for wheelchair ticket and got kicked out twice due to errors and furthest I was back in the queue was 15k. Would seem the demand isn't as big for this run of gigs nit surprised when see the price if tickets

Will still most likely sell out but reckon be handy enough pick up tickets before the shows next may

Also helps he's playing in 4 decent enough stadiums. The capacity for Croke Park alone wouldn't be far off what went to the RDS for all three shows I'd guess.

Belfast it says has a 42.5k capacity for concerts. Nolan Park Google says is 27k and PUC is 45K.

Ticket price wise think we paid the same price as last year for the RDS. Also f**k Thomond Park for turning him down. Turning a 30min walk to the show into a 2hr drive instead.

Got standing tickets for Croke Park. Was relatively painless this time around. The geographical split definitely helped.

Incidentally, out of the 10 odd ties I've seen the Boss live, Nolan Park in 2013 was the best IMO. I may try and get tickets closer to the time.

Still a decent amount left for Belfast it seems. A limited number of seats left for Croker.

Between this and Green Day tickets on Friday, I have cleaned myself out a few weeks before Christmas which isn't ideal Ouch

I forgot about this this morning and was able to get croker tickets an hour after they went on sale in our our preferred seats (upper davin).

Great view from that height and easy access to bars and toilets.

The Thomond Park show that year is probably the best concert I've been to ever. Altogether with the few songs he played when he came out at half five he must have played for at least four hours overall that day.
