It is possible, but the fact that he didn't get the bullet after the Slovakia game leads me to think they might not sack him after being beaten by the top seeds, even if they are England. Performance could be as key as the result. Results elsewhere could have an effect too.

Gordon Strachan says it was an easy decision to finally give Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor his senior international call-up,

Yet Strachan faced criticism only last month after standing firm in the face of supporter demands for McGregor to be involved in wins over Lithuania and Malta.

His after match comments were insane, saying Scots genetic make up (ie being shortarses) was the reason they keep missing out on tournaments.

Absolutely bonkers.  He shunned Griffiths first half of the group which is when they really fooked it up, then Griff almost saved their campaign.  He took their best left back, Tierney and shifted him to accommodate Robertson who can't even dislodge Moreno at Anfield.

He played McArthur yesterday who's played twice for a sh*t Crystal Palace outfit and then he chucks on Steven Fletcher and gives 90 minutes to an utter donkey in Matt Philips.

Talk about a litany of bad choices.

Gordon Strachan has resigned from his role in international football. A loyal servant to the Republic of Ireland, he was Instrumental in guiding the Irishmen to two major championship playoffs, putting him in the company of greats such as Charlton, McCarthy and Trappatoni.

News of his resignation has been met with glowing tributes from the Walls of Derry to the Lakes of Killarney.

"When we were backed into a corner and needed to come out fighting, we could always rely on Strachan" remarked one loyal follower of the boys in green.

"Just when you thought all your efforts had been in vain, Gordon would come through for us without fail", lauded another fan from Galway.

Farewell Gordon, you'll be missed 😥

Makes sense, big Sam might fancy it.

They need to go find a few CB's with Scottish grannies, thats their main issue. They're solid in just about every position bar CB.

What's wrong with playing our friendly at Pittrodrie ?

A great many Scotland fans come from Aberdeen and the the North East so this is a good chance for them to get to a game without having to go to the hassle of travelling down to Glasgow and back. Plus we've played games there numerous times in the past anyway.

And a half arsed friendly played at a 2/3 full Pittodrie is much better than one at a 1/4 full Hampden. It makes sense to play the game up there.

thats not quite true. Think he was saying that AJ has been punished by the courts. So is it ok to abuse him if he plays, and will authorities be ok with that. He should have kept his trap shut. Dont think he was defending him in any way. He was just putting the scenario out there...

thats not quite true. Think he was saying that AJ has been punished by the courts. So is it ok to abuse him if he plays, and will authorities be ok with that. He should have kept his trap shut. Dont think he was defending him in any way. He was just putting the scenario out there...

Don’t think he was defending him but comparing potential abuse a sex offender could get with abuse a black player gets is ridiculous

Very poorly worded comments from Strachan indeed.

He should take a long break from anything to do with football.

Gordon is too wee you can't expect him to compete with the bigger stronger managers.

Director of football, not manager, Dundee to are hoping to persuade Strachan to take that job but with former Ireland international Jim Goodwin (currently manager of Alloa Athletic) as the team manager.

Dundee was Strachan's first team, Tommy Gemmell signed him up. A young Strachan was there at the same time as Jimmy Johnstone who even taught him a few things on the training ground.
