Aguero breaks Henry’s goal record in the league and now has the most for a foreign player in premier league history
And
Now has the most hat tricks in PL history as well

Not a bad afternoon

Legend of a goalscorer.

Very under appreciated by the media IMO.

I get what you’re saying
City have won the premier league 4 times and have never had a player to get player of the year in that time.

Totally underrated, didn't make the premier league team of the year in his first 6 seasons, seasons when he scored 23, 26, 24 goals - golden boot one season and wasn;t voted on

Dean Smith saying City’s three goal scorers cost more than his whole squad.

Mahrez 60m, Aguero 38m, Jesus 27m

Smith spent £146m alone last summer

Needs to go back to school

I didnt mean Players player, I said media.

Kompany won EPL Player of the year in 2012.
And Sterling won the Football Writers (the original) in 2019.

I saw a picture floating around social media today with the money spent for each team.

SU were one of the bottom teams with the amount of money spent with Norwich being the lowest.

I'd like to see an analysis of newly promoted sides and the correlation between spend and how they do. It seems like it'd almost be inversely proportional, except for Wolves who were able to purchase a higher standard of player. Fulham spent a load last year and went straight back down, Villa now going the same way. Seems like teams who have kept the same settled squad in the higher division have generally been more successful than those who have ripped it up and come into the season with a brand new squad?

In my lifetime I’ve seen West Ham relegated twice and return quickly a with  settled team. Often, changes are made but just where to make no changes would be inadequate. Fulham last season was breathtaking as they had a generally good team that played open and attractive football. Several loan players brought in and millions spent and they couldn’t get it together.

QPR also did something similar in 2024/2015 and by the end of the year Joey B was crowing about those signed and their lack of effort.

How that squad in 2003 ever got relegated I'll never know
