Quite a difference between the two.

We qualified for euro 2016 by coming third under O Neill and then through a playoff.  If that system was in place we would still be in it.  So it works both ways.  We came third in the last group.  But nobody mentions that with O Neill they say he got us to the Euros and to the last 16.  He even brought it up himself saying he qualifies in a group with Germany in it.  Yeah we did by coming 3rd.  That hasn’t been enough before or since.

This.

We also only took a point each from Scotland and Poland who were 3rd and 4th seeds!

Qualification was out of our hands by Summer 2015, we absolutely needed Scotland to cock it up in Georgia just to be in with a shout of 3rd!!!

We are 12.25% so not a lot changes. Big Israel goal though was still important.
WGF has Romania having a slight edge over Israel. We probably would have been 20% otherwise.

We also managed to take 4 points off the top seed and reigning world cup champions, Germany.  That 3rd place finish was years beyond anything we've accomplished under Kenny.

If we get a playoff place then we'll try and win it , regardless of the scutter that came before in this group.

I want Kenny to go but have to agree that we got shafted in the draw , easily the toughest group for the third and fourth seed.

The first time the Devil made me do it. The second time I did it on my own.

Am I right in saying we need wales and Israel to qualify automatically ?

Yes or Poland.

Basically you want teams ahead of us in the rankings to qualify over teams behind us in the rankings.

I.e wales over turkey

Israel over Romania

Poland over Albania.

Austria are home and hosed now. So, unless there is a major shock in another group, we need two from Wales, Israel and Poland to qualify automatically.

Just saw a tweet pop up from that Kosovo account I followed last night. UEFA are investigating Romania following the events last night and there is a possibility that they could be deducted points. Doubt that'll happen but it there is a chance lol
