Had forgotten all about him. He had talent but was also a bit of a zoomer. I remember for about six months the Daily Record (a paper made by morons, for morons) one week would link him with an "imminent" transfer to Celtic and the next week "is expected to sign" with Rangers.

Yeah you are probably right he doesn’t fit into the same category of completely losing form. I do remember there was a time where he had dropped but was from a very high level where he was the best striker in the world by a good distance but then he came back down to a level that was more around the same of other top strikers, he occasionally hit form patches but was never as prolific.

Paul Robinson is another one. At one time he looked like he'd be Spurs' long term keeper, but seemed to peak at around 26 or so, and his last season at Spurs was poor, and he fell out of the England team too at the same time.

I remember Paul Robinson agreed a 7 year contract at one time at Spurs. Bonkers.

Michael Ricketts is up there with Michu and Zaki.
31 goals in 2 seasons then went 6 seasons without scoring

Aiden McGeady's form post Euro 2012 might be construed as a fairly dramatic dip. He had something of a bounce at Preston, but on the whole, I would have thought it very disappointing that he ended up out of the Irish team before he turned 32.

No doubt his time at Everton was a disaster, but he was player of the year at Preston and Sunderland and named in the Championship side of the year too.

Good shout. McGeady was 27 when he joined Everton, and from there his form and career plummeted dramatically. Desperate when you consider his level of natural ability and how highly he was once rated.

But would that not be more a case of tracking a decline, as oppose to staying on form, particularly the form he had generally been in before Euro 2012? There was always a PL player in McGeady, but to have become a League 1 Player and out of the Irish reckoning by 32 is still a fairly disappointing outcome for a player who had ripped up the Scottish League in his early days and had performed very well in Moscow, while also being capped almost 90 times by Ireland by the age of 30.

Has Rooney been mentioned?
Also Gazza. As soon as he was left out of WC 98, that was it.

Rooney far from lost form. He only got slower.
Even then he took the piss out the MLS and still doing okay at Derby, nothing special.
