Talking players who’s form fell off a cliff, and not because of their age or being done

David De Gea

Joe Hart. Basically went dramatically south when Pep showed up and decided he was surplus to requirements. Poor spells at Torino and West Ham, sold to Burnley for a relatively modest sum who have released him. Lost his England Number 1 slot, and his squad place before the 2018 World Cup. All since Euro 2016.

Shevchenko, the original Torres

He could never get Jerzy Dudek's knobbly knees out of his mind

Harry Kewell
Ljungberg
Joe Cole
Fowler

All come to mind. Injuries took their toll though i guess but they largely went to sh*te.

Adriano is a massive one.

Paul Parker and Lee Sharpe.

Parker was a regular  at right-back for Man United between 1992-1994 and then lost his place first to David May and then Gary Neville (a serious injury in 1994 didn’t help), but he ended up leaving United in 1996 and started a bit of a journeyman career down the leagues.

Lee Sharpe left the same year and had an injury hit spell at Leeds before retiring relatively early.

Early in his Man United career, yep.

It was 96/97 when he had that amazing season in the middle and got the five year deal.
