He's captain of the Inter Milan youth set-up and been in a few first team squads.  Not seen footage of a full game of him, but just that alone is good enough (in my mind) to have him in our youth squads, and a strong runner for U21 in a couple of months/years.
So 18 year old Robbie Keane should not have been capped when he was and should have waited til he turned 21 ?

Obviously not.  Robbie Keane was an absolutely exceptional talent who at 18 was probably already better than any other striker to ever play senior football for Ireland.  So he, like say Rooney for England, was best-suited to the senior team.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that Ryan Nolan is good enough for the senior team at present (though hopefully it won't be too long before he is).

Next year's uefa u19-championship is for players born on or after 1 January 2000, Nolan was born in February 1999

There is a fair chance he is good enough and we should have someone looking at him, but the reality is, like Crowley for the senior team, it is little more than hope and an opportunity to moan.

Cr9wley team of the month in the Dutch league . This kid can play ive seen him on many occasions. We are not blessed with play makers . He needs to capped soon get him on  board.

We could have badly done with a striker that can't score too.

Definitely not better than anything we have already. Long, Robinson, Maguire, Hogan, O'Brien, McGoldrick are all far better options.

Never said he was? I'd just never heard he was eligible before.

Quick! Get him into a squad and get him tied down by giving him competitive game time. We've never heard of him, he isn't playing great football, he may be entirely undeserving, and it will annoy some of our most loyal servants. But we would be following Ryan Giggs' genius lead. Woo hoo. Come on Wales.

I'd never previously heard of Vassell, let alone his eligibility. A bit surprised that O'Shea and others on here were similarly in the dark.

He's there just about on merit despite no goals so far this term (playing as a winger). There are four other guys in our squad playing in EL1, Lafferty has thrown another (possibly final) no-show and Washington misses out (I think as his kid is unwell).

he was a father at 18, so seeing as he is 32 he kid must be 14ish.

"Ireland was a father at 18 years old and split with the mother, who went back to Ireland, when their second baby was eight months old."

So it seems the mother is also Irish.
