Scannell for Smyth would be a fair enough swap I suppose. Not to mention the fact it would send the likes of Terri into a meltdown, which is always an added bonus
We're decent enough..

No he's not.

Not eligible for Ireland it seems. Shame as he looks a good prospect!

Pity, I wonder where those sites got their info? That tweet was back a few years ago. Maybe he wasn’t aware at the time?

Morrison's name pops up every 6 months, almost certainly not eligible.

Not happening, he is only interested in playing for Northern Ireland and that info comes directly from his girlfriends father.

And it's in the Belly Telly, so it must be true (kinda):

P.S. It's Smyth with a "y"

He couldn't be that staunch a republican, or an Irishman if he played for Linfield at the end of the day

Did a link to that Irish Star article that he wanted to switch to us ever appear?

Several of their players are Ireland fans, not all are brave enough to switch unfortunately.

Actually, there's plenty of them brave enough, just not in the way you're implying.

For several of their Catholic players have received severe abuse and intimidation from their fellow Nationalists - one was attacked by a group who deliberately tried to break his ankle, and at least one other actually had to move house.

(There's probably more than I know, but Linfield prefer to keep it quiet).

No idea about his politics, but "Billy" Fenlon had this to say about signing for Linfield (from Bohs):

Fenlon said: “It was a controversial move when I came up from Dublin to sign for Linfield.

“The Troubles were just finishing and it was a big deal at the time.

“Linfield are a traditionally Loyalist, Protestant club and when I signed it did raise eyebrows.

“But I had more problems over the move back home in Dublin. In Belfast, I didn’t encounter too many at all.

“Linfield was the best football club I ever played for.

“They treated me brilliantly.

http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/1175707/former-hibs-boss-pat-fenlon-caused-fury-after-leaving-bohemians-for-linfield-but-he-had-no-regrets/

P.S. I feel decidedly "unclean" to be speaking up for Linfield, but there are usually two sides to every story. Even with those kunts. LOL

EDIT: Just seen MC's post, above.
