Anybody else ever hear of "ecker" being used to describe homework? Used to be used by a few teachers in my primary school.

Any ideas of origin?

Yeah I used it as a chung fella, ecker short for exercise.

Pretty sure Roddy Doyle used it in his early stuff, only place I have come across it. I assume it is a Dublin thing.
