I agree you're technically correct but it's become commonplace to say it now so think it's not meant as literal anymore, it's just a phrase for these "two games in an international window"

Well 'games in an International window' should be the accurate term used.  Why misrepresent from two World Sports baseball, football? why tho' why?

'games in an International window' V 'doubleheader'

In the interest of swift conversation I'm going with the latter.

Similar to a previous one but I see "shouldn't of" (have) far too often

At this point I don't know why I even go onto FB... Reading all the asinine things said is having a negative impact on my own speaking skills. Surely that isnt the case here...

Not an incorrect saying but where the fook did the saying ''the fold'' come from?

''Harry Arter returned to the fold''
Pied Piper to: Baldrick, Brendan 88, 9Fingers, Borussia and more...

97.6% chance this post will be replied to by Baldrick (source: PWC)

Fold is an alternative word for a gathering of sheep (usually called a flock) or an enclosure for sheep (usually called a pen). Sheep are inclined to get lost or wander off from the group, hence the need for sheepdogs, so ''returning to the fold'' is derived from sheep rejoining the group.

Not entirely clear if Arter was rounded up by a sheepdog & returned to the Cardiff City midfield though.

Picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.....
