Doom in gloom sounds better so without context of the rest of the sentence you can't really knock it

A lot of people in the north, Belfast mainly, don't know the difference between the words win and won.

Yeah, a lot of people in West Yorkshire don't use pronouns. Example:
"How did Leeds get on today?" "Thought would win, but lost."

Might have been mentioned here over the past few weeks but apparently there are a sizeable number of English people who think "jewels remain, still gleaming" is a lyric from 3 Lions.

Such people probably just found the original lyrics too French sounding for their wants and needs.

Describing two matches as a "Double-header" when they're against different teams and several days apart.

lot of Irish people insert a “h” where there shouldn’t be one, ie whacko jacko instead of wacko, thrashed instead of trashed.
One lad I worked with used to say pass the book instead of pass the buck, he pronounced it buke.

So when we play against Wales and Denmark in Oct three days apart....you wouldn’t call that a double header? I would. |

Yes. I wouldn't call two home fixtures in a row a Double header. The borrowed term from baseball refers to two fixtires in a day. For Football it can usially mean two fixtures in the same venue on the same day. (crowd entrance/exit/entrance maybe debated). For a number of seasons Continental Tyres WFAI Cul Final and Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup Final have been double-headers in front of the same audience. (presentation of Gender Equality). Everton v Swindon Town Chadwick Cup Tolka Park (1990? 1991?) was preceded by a Shelbourne Friendly - Double-Header World University Games/Universiade Football had group and ranking matches as double headers in the past. More recently, the Final Men/Women can be the same venue, same day. Guess which Final is first? What makes IRLLv Den (13th Oct) and IRL v WLS (16th Oct) a double? Club football has numerous fixtures throughout the year. Two-in-a-row is nothing to shout about.

I’d take double header to mean two headline games on the same day same venue. Never two games a day or two apart.
