Enjoyed watching it last night. Such a pity he crashed and burned so quickly in the end. A roller coaster of a life he had.

I could agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.

When you see his best friend "GUS" being told he's never returning to Dublin, that's very sad. He was troubled, and his song writing reflected that, but as Jim Fitzpatrick said "how do you save a drowning man". I met him 3 times in my life, 2 in the airport, and once in the Long Hall. Sound bloke, chatted to us as normal. Last time I met him was in 1982 in Dublin Airport, sounded like a chesty cough, sure little did I know he was up to it on drugs etc. Pity really, as he was one talented performer and song writer. Myself and the rest of my "LIZZY" mates went to the RDS in 1983 to see the Thunder & Lightning Tour. Brilliant gig, but it was the last time I saw him play with the group. Saw him with Grand Slam and solo in the SFX. Good, but not "LIZZY". When I'm in Howth I visit his grave, just to say "hello". Sure he's a wild one !
