Heard Ray Houghton on the radio talking about being a team mate of Paul Byrne when he was at Oxford. Was this the same Paul Byrne who played for Celtic Birmingaham and Bohs amongst others.
TJ Doyles,Sunderland probably the best Irish pub in the world.

just actually checked up on his son Kurtis, still playing with U19's for Hibs. Wonder if he regrets leaving Norwich for them. John Collins poached him from Norwich while he was in charge of Hibs. Seems to be well thought off by the Hibs faithful though just looking at some of their fans forums. Plays underage for Ireland as well, think he is U19 now.

Had a thread on him not so long ago. His goal against Rangers is on youtube. Great goal!

What a player Paul Byrne was. He could have been a huge player for us if only things might have worked out differently. He made his Celtic debut away to Rangers in Nov 93 and was man of the match in  a 2-1 victory. ( That was not the game that he scored that famous goal ).

Hang on, this fella got the bullet from Dublin Bus in the LSL last year, played against his side (player/manager) and they were an absolute shambles.

I'd be very surprised if he's over in England managing at a decent standard.

He was capped at Under-15, Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-21 level and "B" level for Ireland and was included in numerous full international squad but never made an appearance.

Currently temporary manager of Hemel Hempstead Town F.C.

He was a seriously talented player but far too much of a messer.  Can barely manage himself, would be surprised if he lasts long at Hemel Hempsted.
