Sad state of affairs when people want this chap on board. He wants to play for England, good luck to him.
At least he's honest enough to admit he wants to play for England unlike the other spoofer at Villa.

Average imo and not Irish. Leave him be. McAuley is a stricker and a bot special. Hope he fulfills his potential.

The thing about players of this level at the minute is, there are so few English players starting in the EPL that they know if they get a run of good performances and a few goals if they're a forward, then theres a good chance they will get their chance with England
Look at Jamie Vardy for example. Playing non-league not so long ago and now has a good chance of going to the Euros. Edited by Roberto Baggio - 14 Oct 2015 at 11:40am |

I rate Bamford quite highly but his comments "I'll only play for Ireland if England decline me" I don't want the fella if his heart isn't in it. Aye okay you can say he's been honest about it as you say but International football shouldn't be like club football where you pick and choose who to play for.

Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford says he still hasn't made up his mind on an international career with Ireland. The forward, who was capped once at U18 level by Ireland but subsequently played for his native England at youth and U21 level, has spoken to Mick McCarthy about a switch to Ireland but McCarthy has become frustrated with the lack of progress. "Some of the stuff that gets written in the press is a load of rubbish," said Bamford, quoted in the Yorkshire Evening Post. "I spoke to Mick and he asked me to basically change over nationality for the summer games and I said ‘look I had a bad injury last year and I want to concentrate on the season with Leeds.’ "I am not saying no, I am just concentrating on Leeds. I haven’t closed any doors, I have not said yes, I have not said no." |

So as it stands, with this clown having played U21 with England, he’s currently classed as an English player?
