Driving up this evening from Cork and wondering where would be the best place to park? Leaving Cork around 4 30.

Park in Red-Cow P&R and LUAS into cc...walk to Aviva.
Driving into the CC should be avoided at all costs.

Avoid canal at all costs I would say. I use the M50 to go around it and way quicker

Pembroke Hockey club is my go to.
N7 onto M50 southbound.
Make way from M50 to Stillorgan road northbound.
Turn right at Donnybrook at RTE and head straight to Merrion Road
Turn of Merrion Roan onto Serpentine Avenue just after the RDS.
Hockey club is on that road. Handy enough to get out of the stadium and on the road without traffic after you get off Sepentine Avenue which is slow but moves (about 10 minutes). Once you get on Merrion Road then no more traffic. Head back the same way.

Getting to Luas after game is a pain in hole if you are not on the drink.

Edit: parking in the hockey club is 10 euro cash

I usually Park at the point and walk over (20mins), use the port tunnel too to avoid the traffic. Wouldn't Park anywhere near the ground from experience its nuts getting home

it was actually grand the other day  although usually don't drive in and traffic normally is sh*te yeah. Leaving cork at half 4 to get the Luas and walk to Aviva is tight enough if you hit traffic on way up at all

Very regular...every 10 mins I'd say at most.
You show up, park and there'll be a LUAS ready to go any minute.
It's an excellent service, to be fair.

This is what I always do. Only ever a few minutes wait for the Luas, get off at the point and 20 mins walk down. Its a great service.

I definitely wouldn't be leaving Cork at 4, hitting all the traffic on the N7 at 5.30.

Get off at the Dawson stop, walk down to Nassau Street, turn right and its a straight walk out to the top of Lansdowne Road. Alternatively if feeling lazy, hop on a number 4 or 7 bus, the stops are on Nassau Street.

But that's on the Green line, no?
Anyone coming up from Cork will be on the Red line.
So get off down the Point and walk over from there.

Yeah I parked at Dawson on Saturday so it's easy from there. 7 Bob for a taxi!

Luas is definitely more straight forward, especially if you don't know the area that well and I suppose the 20-25 minute walk each way to the luas is not that bad if you have traveled for hours from another part of the country!

Probably take about 1 hour and 15 minutes to do the walk back luas and the journey back to red cow given they can be crowded immediately after game.

Me, i like to get out ASAP if not on the beer and would be able to make it to red cow within 45 minutes using the M50 in the motor

Might try the parking near ballsbridge so. Don't fancy having to head back to the red cow after.
