Remember watching it in the pub on rte and the Germans scored in like 92nd min and I thought 'typical fecking Germans'. Very untypical of them to lose a shootout of course. Poor fella's probably never recovered from it. |

Been searching the forum looking for a thread on that famous
day in New York in 94 and can’t find one.
Anyone know if there is one? Would
love to read people’s memories of that day.
I finished my leaving cert the Tuesday before and flew out on the
Friday. All a blur now but remember the
heat and staying in the Novotel just off Times Square. |

Never get bored looking at that.
Bulgaria had a couple of chances after MacKay scored which would have completely changed the history books. The line between success and failure can be very thin sometimes! |

I could agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.

Took a half day from work and adjourned to a local hostelry more in hope than expectation. Tge boys in the studios were like fans at the end, champagne flowed.
