Lets hope the other families and victims of British state terrorism in Ireland can also get some sort of justice.

Indeed. Next step will be to appeal this verdict, which took 34 years to get, then kick it up to the Supreme Court when that fails. Meanwhile the atrocious “ legacy bill “ trundles on. The wheels of justice turn slowly.

He also told him he was going to kill him before too. The army were harassing all the lads going to work on a daily basis.

It's quite the achievement to get the manslaughter charge.

Exactly

And they are going to immediately appeal. He could still get off.

Even if he does time it will not be much. On the rare occasions where British Army personnel have had to do time, the usual trick is to get them out in a fraction of the time anyone else would have to do and let them back in the Army. Latter doesn’t look like an option for Holden, though, he’s in his early 50s now and plainly obese. That other psycho “Soldier F”,aka Peter Cleary, who shot up Derry on Bloody Sunday, got several promotions afterwards and given his age now is as likely to be called from God’s Waiting Room as he is to be convicted and at last do time for his butchery.

Agree above but he's not in the army any more. Regardless of the time spent in prison, it's the principle that he was found guilty and hopefully many more are up before a diplock court.

The use of the term “person of interest” still being used in reports about the case, to continue tarnishing the name of a innocent man, to lead people to think he must have been up to something when nothing was further from the truth.

Simply a case of a young Irish man working across the border who needed to walk through that bastard checkpoint every day and run the gauntlet of abuse and threats from f**ked up little squaddies given free reign to do as they choose and behave as they wanted. A more modern day version of the Black and Tans is all they were.

Green Cockade probably knows all about this man already but Costas Georgiou was some character after reading about him today. Highest rank was corporal but claimed to be a colonel. Turfed out of the army, not after killing civilians, which he almost certainly did, but after robbing a post office. Ended up a mercenary in Angola during the Angolan War of Independence with, allegedly, over a hundred dead bodies to his name before being executed by firing squad by rival forces at the age of 25 after he was trialed along with half-a-dozen others, despite requests for clemency by the Queen.

This chap massacred thirteen other mercenaries in Angola after they tried to back out, having underestimated what they were getting themselves into. Claimed to have killed people on his own side for "the fun of it".

This is the kind of headbanger the British Army was full of in the North.

Two men have appeared in court following police searches conducted as part of an investigation into criminality linked to a paramilitary organisation in Londonderry.

They are investigating the Irish National Liberation Army (INLA).

Pofen Huang, 62, and his 31-year-old nephew Min Zhe Lin are charged with a number of drugs offences.

The INLA is an equal opportunities employer. Not unlike the UDA, who promoted the Shoukri brothers , affectionately referred to as “ the Pakis” by their mentor Johnny Adair, to high rank.

Speaking in court on March 28, the first day of the trial, prosecuting barrister Ciaran Murphy QC said that McAnesipe was killed by one of THREE bullets fired from a general-purpose machine gun, also known as a GPMG.

Only four British Army soldiers have ever been convicted of killings while on duty prior to Holden. Between them, they served a total of ten years in jail and all returned to the Army on release. Some were subsequently promoted. In contrast, thousands of republicans and loyalists were imprisoned during the “ Troubles” and served lengthy sentences, with only unemployment and poverty to look forward to on release for many.
