The only reason there are so many rumours is that they have created a vacuum. If Poyet is falsely using an offer from the FAI to leverage a new contract with the Greek FA, they should call him out on it.
They absolutely shouldn't. That would be totally amateur hour.
They've said it would be early April and then they basically briefed the media it would be after the Women's games. They don't need to say any more.

Indeed, some lads really are clueless when it comes to public relations. Coming out and addressing every rumour is a brilliant way to add fuel to the fire and create an even bigger storm. They've set out their stall already and they're either going to stick to it or they won't, as of yet the due date is has not arrived so there's no solid evidence anyone in the FAI has been lying about anything.

The FAI must be the worst organisation in the world at public relations.

An absolute bengal lancer. The FAI should be running a mile (shouldn't have gotten involved in the first place).
I think there is a fairly decent chance they haven't
Do you think that the FAI haven't spoken to him? I find that highly unlikely.
I think he wants to stay with Greece and his agent is trying to up the pressure on them.
Dan McDonnell reporting last Friday there were people briefing him from within the FAI that they have somebody lined up.
Not all of the media reporting can be correct so I think what's more likely is that the briefing coming from Poyet's agent is made up. But this is all guess work on my part.

Dan also reporting that there have been talks with Poyet.

It's clear now that there have been and possibly still are negotiations

It's a sh*t show

Why would Poyet be leveraging the Greek FA for a  new deal.  Are they paying well?  The EIRE job is far better tan the Greece one and it s abetter shop window to get a job back in The Championship for him.

Depends on your next move. Ireland move makes perfect sense if next move is hopefully back to England, as mentioned above.

Mercenarys will do what they gotta do.

Clueless or deluded if you are defending the current FAI effort here. Do you feel compelled to be champion of every miserable effort?

Press Release Statement on behalf of my client Lord Trap Junior Esquire IV of Corribside

I can confirm my client has tonight turned down the opportunity to coach the Republic of Ireland Men's Senior International side after a week of discussions between us and the FAI.   On Wednesday night negotiations broke down and my client formally informed the FAI that he would be withdrawing his interest in the role.  My client will not answer questions at this time and we ask that you respect his privacy.  We wish the FAI good luck in their search for a successor to Stephen Kenny.

Statement Ends

Things are so beyond apathy that Canham will have to pull a zinger out of his hole just to get on par.
