Not really BB Everyman and their dog knew the home defeat to Denmark in the playoff should of been the end but o Neill and Keane and their salaries presided over not just sh*t results but sh*t performances as well with o Neill post match interviews leavving you wondering what game he had watched
A high point being outplayed at home by a sh*t NI team in a friendly
We need a coach/ tactician not a motivator
Plenty of coaches on the continent and the salary is competitive

Precisely, this list above of has been UK managers amazes me, except for Herve Renard. If we want progress, really, get away from UK and Ex Irish Internationals and bring in a decent continental manager, and that also includes continental coaches at all levels underage both male/female. We're awash with UK coaches at underage level. It's a 5 year programme minimum, but more like a 10 year one in reality. Enough of buddies, free trips etc. deciding on a manager, real change required in a results based industry. Fans vote with their feet, so a short term fix/patch isn't the answer. We need reform.

What's wrong with English coaches? England just won the U21 European championship and senior team finalists in the Euros. They are doing alright as a football nation.

Not a hope in hell of getting Herve Renard. He took a 75% pay cut when he left Saudia Arabia to take charge of the French Women's team who went to this summer's Women's World Cup and have a home Olympics next summer. What deluded fool thinks Renard will walk out on that for us?

Don’t be shocked if we don’t have a manager in place until August next year.
Our next game of any meaning is September and even at that it’s national league.

Zero chance we go into the March window without a manager unless it's specifically agreed that somebody will be joining later in the year. But I still think they'd want to the new manager in for the March friendlies.

Check the opposition they faced in the last 3 major tournaments.. and which side of the draw they got when they qualified for finals... U21 win is still equivalent LOI manager level, big step up to senior level.

They haven’t rushed into the women’s replacement and they had nations league games not just friendlies.
It would not surprise me if they save themselves a few bob by not appointing a manager until next summer. The lack of games means it’s a distinct possibility.

Differing situation for a lot of reasons. They had somebody in house who could take on the role short term. The nations league group wasn't exactly the hardest. And the type of coach they are looking for given they have a strategic plan for women's football was always likely to take time to put in place. We'll likely have 4 games before our nations league games start in September which will be the only chance a new manager will have to get his feet under the table so I imagine they'll want to make most use of those.

Wouldn't be a huge problem having an interim manager in for the games next spring, more important to have a manager in place by early summer and have a training camp so he can have the time to implement his ideas and have some behind closed doors friendlies. Ideally wed have a manager in place well in advance of the spring friendlies so he can scout the players and see their abilities and can develop a way of playing based on players available not on a philosophy, try his ideas out n the friendlies and then have the summer camp to further implement his ideas and best prepare for the NL games in the autumn.

Because they will be looking at a lucrative salary to start in the championship/prrmiership which we can’t match

Not many vacancies in the EPL or Championship for them though. I'm sure there's many fellas in L1 or L2 who would love to manage at a higher level, but the vacancies just aren't there - you probably have 8 or 10 professional managers going for a Premiership or Championship job every time one comes up.
