Turkey who are in the mix for 2nd place if group I drew in friendly Monday night. They are 1 place and 1 point ahead of us in the rankings so we may jump them in the next rankings update, assuming we win Sunday.

Edit - also noticed Ukraine in the same group lost to Malta to ranking impact for them also.

Edgar reckons we will likely drop to 32nd in July.

No surprise unfortunately.  Very unlikely to be seeded now if we finish 2nd.  NI will be 24th.

Edgar's stats are interesting too.

54% chance of going to Russia in his unbiased opinion.

Here are his probabilities for us

1: team   Irl
2: 1st place in group  46.7%
3: 2nd place in group and seeded in play-offs (based on October 2017 ranking) 0.3%
4: 2nd place in group and unseeded in play-offs (based on October 2017 ranking) 23.2%
5: 2nd place in group and worst in the ranking of groupnumbers 2   7.1%
6: 3rd-6th place in group  22.7%
7: total probability to qualify for WC2018 (col2+0.7*col3+0.3*col4)  53.9%
8: difference (in %-points) in total probability to qualify for WC2018, compared to March 2017   -11.4%

NI's figures are

NIR - 1,1 - 15,3 - 56,4 - 7,8 - 19,4 - 28,7 - +4,8

The interim UEFA rankings for June 2017 can be found on UEFA's website. They put us at 19th and 1 place ahead of the north, ahead of Turkey too. Not sure where that leaves us in FIFA rankings though

No idea why but if you click that link it doesn't work. Take out the %20 at the end of the site address and it should work then

I can't see any "%20" at the end of the link you've given.

Nor can I find the page by looking through (the useless) uefa.com

Can you re-post the link please?

Meanwhile, this table, which has been updated to include the 6th round of qualifiers, has ROI 20th, Turkey 21st and NI 22nd:
http://www.footballseeding.com/national-ranking-uefa/ranking-2017/

And they claim the following:
"Please note - despite numbers in National Ranking UEFA may be different from another websites (including UEFA.com), they are on 100% correct."
.

I'll explain - when you click on the link you get this:

https://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Download/competitions/General/02/47/77/34/2477734_DOWNLOAD.pdf%20

That's the URL then but if you remove what he said it's this you need:

https://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Download/competitions/General/02/47/77/34/2477734_DOWNLOAD.pdf

So a finish to this year of;

Georgia W
Serbia D
Moldova W
Wales D

Would probably keep us in the UEFA top 20 format and mean we would be a second seed for Euro 2020 qualification.
10 groups qualifying for Euro 2020.

Just a small point on these UEFA rankings.  Some sites assume a loss or a draw for all teams in the remaining games whereas the UEFA site does the average over games played.  As more games are played the differences converge.

EG UEFA have Slovenia (in Group B) ahead of Hungary (in Group C) but if both get the same results in their last 4 games Hungary will pass them out.  Hence the footballseedings site has Hungary ahead of Slovenia.

The key thing is to stay in the top 24 thus be in Group B. After the Nations League you need to be in the top 20 to be a 2nd seeding for the Euro2020 draw.  I think that just means avoiding relegation.

I think this site gives a better indication of where everyone stands

A couple of wins should ensure we are in Group B.  I'd expect NI to do enough to stay in Group B as well.  However the playoffs could complicate this.

Reported on ESPN and a few other sites, rankings to be officially published tomorrow. Currently on 854 points and expected to drop to 816 (after the loss to Mexico)

The Welsh lads are dropping like a stone. What were they at the start of the group 9? They seem to have caught our draw most games you play disease. If they keep up their no friendlies policy they just might see off the enigma that is the Nordies for another few months.
