Movie Plot Holes

In Lethal Weapon 2 the South African Consulate is covertly involved with drug money which has come to the attention of the police. So their insane solution to keep their operation going is to carry out co-ordinated set of attacks on the LAPD investigation team?!  There would be wall to wall international media coverage if 6 or 7 police investigators were killed within a simultaneous timeframe as depicted in the film.

Because he had to do what the script dictated he do.

He was likely shopping in an establishment that was a little ahead of the environmental curve in not using plastic

it was a stressful fight.  It aged him.

Given the drug dealing aspect they would also risk having the federal agencies involved such as the FBI & DEA, not to mention the American government itself demanding answers of the South African government.
