Cops usually deal with football violence quite well over here. Their tactic, and it seems to have been the same in the video doing the rounds, is to leave those who want a fight to have one and keep those who aren't interested away. If it wasn't for the lad getting his face slashed open, or it didn't involve Millwall, this would hardly have made local news. There wasn't even a decent punch thrown!
No fan of Millwall, their racist chanting yesterday, again, being the reason why, but they always get all the blame for the violence. It takes two to tango. By all accounts, Everton were out for trouble yesterday. I believe their 'firm' were acting the bollocks around Southwark all day and the lad who was slashed was carrying a knife himself.

Not excusing Millwall, but it seems that when they draw an EPL team at home in the cup it becomes a retro away day for old hooligans and the media report trouble at Millwall quicker than anywhere else.

I’d say the two lads were old hands, decided to let the headcases at it and mop up after. As pm says if there was no knife involved it’d be ignored probably.

Horrific looking gash on the Everton fan's face. What else would you expect if your engaging in that sort of sh*te though.

I saw the video of the Everton fans acting the bollox across the road from the Millwall pub. Hard to have much sympathy for any of the lads involved.
