I actually think the Christie omission is an example of a break with the old.
While been played out of position Christie still a better MIDFIELDER  than Arter , Browne , Whelan and one or two others... Think he can feel hard done by in been left out

Such bull.
Your missing my point. While clearly out of his depth in midfield at this level Christie showed more wiliness to get on the ball and attempt to pass it than the other players I mentioned in the couple of games he played there.... and Hourihane can f**k off too.

I think we can infer several things from the squad announcement as to the likely composition and structure of the team Mick's likely to field. Firstly, Christie's omission seems to suggest that it'll be either Coleman or Doherty at right-back and he isn't going to play both on the right flank. This means one of our better players, probably Young Doherty, by some way the outstanding Irish player this season, is going to be left out of the starting line-up.

The fact that he's named just three centre-halves with Ward dropping out means we'll probably be playing with a flat back four with Stevens at left-back.

We know Mick will go with five in midfield and one up top because he's already said as much. Whelan at 35 isn't being brought back go sit on the bench, and is in all probability going to start as the first-choice holding midfielder. In fairness he's still the best of what's available to us in this role. Mick's enthusing over Judge I think says he's got a good chance of being in the starting XI, for his set pieces if nothing else. If he doesn't make it at least one of Hourihane or Brady will for the same reason.

McGoldrick's relationship with Mick allied to his form this season means he'll likely start, though not as number 9 up front on his own as some on here seem to think. He's more of a link player, and will probably play behind Maguire or Long.

All supposition, but I'd imagine the team will look more or less something like this:

                                   Randolph

Coleman        Duffy             Keogh        Stevens

                        Whelan         Hendrick

            Judge        McGoldrick        O'Dowda

                                   Maguire

I think Mick will pick something along the lines of :

               Randolph

   Coleman Duffy Keogh Doherty

           Arter  Whelan

   Brady   Hendrick     McClean

                   Long

If Bamford got a call from England, you can guarantee he wouldn't be postponing anything.

There seems to be a collective Stockholm syndrome amongst some fans in Ireland. Bottom line: If an international call up is refused in anyway or delayed... Endgame.

Fook Bamford. Won't even get near the squad when Kenny takes over anyway.

No way. O dowda has to play in form. Mcgoldrick i think deserves a chance and id like to see maguire up there aswell.  Against gibraltar i think we could possibly include hourihane aswel. Good at set pieces and creative. Dont think we need hendrick arter and whelan in theone team esp against gibraltar.

                          Randolph

Coleman      Duffy      Egan          Stevens

                         Arter/Whelan

Doherty/Hendrick     Hourihane     O'Dowda

                     McGoldrick           Maguire

Few decisions there to be made

It is understandable because he is injury prone, I would also imagine that he would need the international clearance too.
In an ideal world we wouldn't be worried about him, but he is  superior to anything we have. I also very much doubt that Kenny will have the luxury of turning down players that have his quality. For all the potential we have coming through, I would be absolutely amazed if Bamford wouldn't be good enough for Kenny's squads. It would be superb if we could afford to ignore him.
you were probably told to leave an Irish centre one night but kept mouthing off and some big church going Gaa player f**ked you out the door hence your hatred for the Catholic Church and Gaa aswell!

Not necessarily true, there are loads of guys who've teetered for a while before joining us. I'm almost certain Bamford will declare within the next 12 months; but only because there isn't a chance in hell he'll ever get near an England call up.
We're decent enough..

Would he turn down Gareth now for the same reason he turned down Mick? Waiting until the summer. I don't buy it. I think he's hedging his bets hoping that Leeds get promoted and he has a decent start next year. If Callum Wilson can get a cap I'm pretty sure he could. And I guess that's what he's thinking too.

I've pretty much echoed your sentiments... FWIW, Wilson is absolutely streets ahead of him; Bamford will never get within an ars*s roar of England and that is why he will (eventually) declare for us.
We're decent enough..
