Kilbane recommends putting Young Doherty at left backWacko

Can we not put square pegs in round holes just to get them in the team.  Play Young Doherty ahead of Coleman or instead Coleman.  I don't think Mick is going to put his arse in the bacon slicer by putting him at left back.

Pied Piper to: Baldrick, Brendan 88, 9Fingers, Borussia and more...

That would a complete waste. I made a point of watching Wolves in a couple games recently in the cup and he plays as an attacking wingback in a 3-4-3, and was on occasion the furthest man forward. 6 goals and 4 assists this season. Play him on the right hand side of midfield and let him influence the game in a positive sense.

I think it would be a waste to try and repurpose Doherty as a LB.

Actually give our performing PL player an influential role and see what he can do.

Really looking forward to tomorrows game. Last year or so drained the life out of us but cant wait to see what tomorrow brings. Hope maguire scores and gets it out of the way in an irish jersey.

Understatement I know but we really do need to find a regular goalscorer I'd love to think Maguire could be that man.

Funny enough, given what we know about MM and the way he operates, there is reason to be slightly excited.

I can help but feel if we had carried on there are a number of players who aren’t playing or in form who would have been selected and the system would have remained the same.

At least we have...

1. A manager who is very good when managing limited resources.
2. A squad of players who are at least in form in their respective teams.
3. A starting team that already knows it’s starting and won’t be surprised at 5pm today
4. A starting team unlikely to be picked exclusively on reputation or perceived quality.
5. A departure from the 2018 regime.

We've had 10 years of managers telling us the team well in advance or just on the knicker line. Our first opportunity for leaks!

I am the opposite, I’m absolutely dreading it. It is going to be a terrible game on a terrible pitch and I can see us struggling. Any win will do.

Sounds like there's a very strong wind over there, will be interesting to whether it's cross-field or towards one end - great opportunity for Gib to nick a freakish goal.
