Back on the bench again today so seems to be back in some favour.
Long dropped to the bench with Ings back.
Smallbone's path back to fitness continues as he's made the bench too.

Dont think this will happen.

Read an article this week where Southampton have said they have moved away from letting young players go out on loan as they werent finding it successful. Instead they have their U'23s operating as a B team which plays in exact same style as the first team, they think this prepares their players better for stepping up than going on loan

According to a report in The Athletic, Southampton are willing to part ways with him in January FWIW.

Aston Villa were interested previously, Swansea latest to be mentioned-they have a mainly young team, the manager seems to get the best out of them and they are looking for a striker, so could be a good fit for a loan move.

The article was from Southampton point of view of wanting rid of him, ideally for good, but on loan if needs be.  Article named 9 attacking players for 4 spots, didnt include obafemi, in fact said Obafemi being gone would assist in the development of some of the younger players.

Not that surprising tbh

He got himself into a great position and needed to start working even harder, it is clear he didn't do that

Wouldn't walk into that starting XI but if he could get games there, be great for the lad.

When you think of the outrage from some on here when SK didn't have him in his first squad LOL

Looks to be a good move for him. Will be interesting to see how it pans out.

I think you're being a bit unfair there mind, Obafemi played 20+ times in the PL last season and wasn't completely out of the Southampton first team picture coming into this season.

True but the way some lads reacted you'd swear he was the next Messi. Don't think it was particularly odd  for SK not to have him in the squad IMO
