Apart from the fact that he is a wonderful ambassador to the nation and its history and culture, who better to represent us than a charming poet, there is also his wonderfully brave stances that cost him at times in his career(8th amendment etc.), his fine record as Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht and because I see him as a genuine socialist. What's not to like? Even his missus seems f**king bonkers.

 Yeah I wasn't actually having a pop, more a bit of ribbing (not to be confused with rimming). Diverse opinions make the forum interesting. Michael D is a superb President and we are lucky to have him. To think that we nearly ended up with Seán Gallagher until McGuinness stitched him up live on TV. |
