I wouldn't say scapegoated by Conte just he was always going to change up and switch Davies is a natural LB so he was likely to be the one to face the chop.
Spurs are awful nearly worse the 2nd half no harm him being out this sh*tshow of a 2nd half. He wasn't the main problem in the first half.

Alasdair Gold gave him a 3 which means he was probably a 6.

Yeah, he needs to get out of there and go somewhere he'll be appreciated. Spurs fans won't change their opinion at this point. I wonder how much truth there is in the Roma link.

tactical change at half time moving to a 4 2 3 1. As he was playing left wing back he was always going to be the one to make way in that setup as they had a right back and left back already in place.
Doherty was no worse or better than any other spurs player in the first half. Spurs were better in the 2nd half but they couldn’t be much worse. Lucky to get away with 2nil.

Time to go Matt. Get some first team football somewhere. Pity he never really showed his best Wolves form there.

Thought Matt was decent last night. Few good tackles and headers. Lost the ball a couple of times in Chelsea 3rd. He is such a scapegoat at Spurs it’s ridiculous. Have watched him play loads of games for them and finding it interesting reading fans comments after.
All football fans are fickle but they really take it to a different level IMO. And before I’m accused of green tinted glasses, I have also noticed it with certain other players they have…. Hojberg (who started off a fans favourite), winks etc

Spurs are one of those clubs where supporter expectations are significantly detached from reality, which has that impact on the fans I think. Nothing they can realistically achieve with the money they spend will satisfy their supporters. The Champions League final appearance was a total one off.

Not watching it but was public enemy No 1 Young Doherty in anyway at fault for the Chelsea goal?
I'm sure some on the Spurs forum will tie it to him somehow. Nice to see he's getting consecutive starts including both legs of a semi-final anyway.

spurs have been terrible again. Chelsea outplaying them. Keeper error for the goal.
Doherty has been no better or worse than others but left wing back does not suit him for Spurs. Spurs have peno now. Going to Var. free kick

He could do nothing about the goal. Tanganga, who is having another mare, lost Rudiger on a corner and the keeper came and missed the ball completely.
He's doing alright, been more involved than Royale on the opposite side.

Assist. Sort of. Spurs look better with him in the team. His introduction wasn't an enforced change either.
