The monday night club on 5live last night featured MON getting the forest job. Chris Sutton convinced it's a great appointment and Ian Wright and journalist Rory Smith not so sure, wondering if he's lost his enthusiasm for management. This annoyed Sutton greatly who's convinced his troubles in the latter part of his Ireland reign were due to the fact we have no good players at all.

23 minutes to 39 if anyone wants to listen....

Is Keane going with him or what??  All gone quiet on that front.

Looks likely. They're in salary negotiations. He was way overpaid with Ireland though and may look for too much

True. Keane is very greedy. Turned down the Celtic job a few years ago over bunts.

The ex-Celtic players who played under him all seem to have the same level of delusion in relation to his abilities as a manager at this present time. They all have no problems admitting that he did very little work on the training ground, which is a minimum requirement for any modern day manager.

All happy to jump on the "Ireland don't have the players" bandwagon, yet ignore the lack of time he spends working with his team. I'm happy to accept that this is the poorest pool of players in my lifetime, but the lack of preparation on the training ground gave them little chance of success, which was evident since the Euros.

Will be interesting to see if he still has the desire for day-to-day club management. I hope he's bringing in an actual coach rather than relying on Keane.

Still no Keane deal with Forest as of yet. He is in no position to be demanding big money as nobody will touch him.  He is lucky MON took him on board because he is poison.  Guppy, Seamus McDonagh and MON were at training yesterday. They obviously accepted the money they were offered.

Forrest fans who are pointing out that Ireland don’t have any good players may need to realize that they have even worse players.

Keane was in discussions a couple of days ago.  All the rest of MON's team are at work already.  Keane nowhere to be seen.  It's looking like he is being a greedy child again like he was in 1993.

Just wondering...why is this thread still in the ROI section even though MON is no longer the Ireland manager?

After all, the Jack Grealish thread was moved to the ROW sction once he declared for England.

Has he though...? Wink

Ok, I see what you mean.  I was just asking a question more out of curiousity, going by the fact that the JG thread was moved, that's all.

Actually interesting question...JG was moved because (presumably) because he declared for England having never represented Ireland at a senior level...if Declan Rice declares now for England will he be moved to ROW in the way JG was or given that he has 3 senior caps wuld he be kept here as a former Irish international...THAT is the big question Smile

I find it amusing when people get worked up over which section a thread is in.
