The Shinners will be saying how everything that happend is in the past and should be left there etc.... Sure if that's the case the likes Ray Burke, Beverely Cooper Flynn et al should run in the next election without fear of their past being brought into question.Ermm
Eamonn Dunphy:"I'll tell you who wrote it, Rod Liddle, he's the guy who ran away and left his wife for a young one".

Bill O'Herlihy: Ah ye can't be saying that now Eamonn

Would not think he will win, but do think it is excellent strategy on SF's behalf.  They have had a look at the most uninpiring list of candidates ever assembled for any election, anywhere, ever, and come to the conclusion that Marty can pull a bigger vote than their normal representation in the South, thus enabling them to build an even bigger platform for the next general election, which is what this candidature is all about. Wherever you stand on their politics, you can't fault the logic.

Think he will get a sizeable vote, maybe come 3rd, or even 2nd, mainly on the basis that everybody knows who he is, something that can't be said for any of the others bar Mick D (ceased to be relevant a long time ago) and Norris, who will doubtless be hit with more selective leaks if he re-enters (should really leave that pun thereLOL) the race.

SF - they do think long term, I'll give them that.

The other candidates are of a poor standard anyway.

So he kept me soul for ransom.

Gets my vote. Other candidates are embarassing. If people in the north could vote (which they should) hed probably walk it

If norris has to answer about his past so should mc Guinness.

Hypocrisy for anyone not to want noriss to run because of his past and yet support mc guiness and his past.
