We are also pretty good at sinking to the level of 'lesser' teams and giving them confidence so I doubt we'll test him much. Yeah I'm pessimistic. Hopefully Collins will score a header or make a darting run from his half hahah.

It is a bit of a joke that he's basically the only member of the back 5 to be dropped (Kelly was always going to come back in when fit, so Travers is basically the scapegoat).

I see that signings were a big reason that Parker got the bullet or lack of signings that is and his pressurizing of the board about that. I can't help but think starting the shiny new Brazilian cap from Barcelona is a deflection tactic in that context.
Travers might be better off out of there.

Handy start for Neto, at home to a Wolves team who look like they haven't a goal in them right now unless it's a strike from about 30 yards. Though he did need one of his defenders to clear one off the line for him. Travers will have to wait a while to play again I think.

The issue here isn't that he dropped Travers tbf if Neto was Irish and Travers English we would be spitting chips if Neto didn't get a run out tonight. Must try and be impartial too.
The issue is they/he dropped f**k all else with him. Such an easy thing to do was scapegoat him and even worse against the lowest scoring team in the League! If Bournemouth dropped 3 of the back 4 with him that would be logical! Was only going one way. Still wouldn't give up on Travers getting us place back long term but the timing is rancid.

It happens when a keeper concedes nine. Confidence is shot to bits. Travers is young enough and good enough to bounce back but who knows when. Bournemouth will struggle due to the board’s failure to bring in the reinforcements necessary at this level.

Travers will have to show a bit of character now because itll be a while before he gets another chance. When it comes he will have to take it.
