I don't rate James but it's daft to say OGS is out of his depth just because you don't agree with VDB not playing today.

I like VDB and I've a feeling OGS will play him against Leipzip on Wednesday even if he isn't starting. Fernandes looked a bit tired and off the pace today and should've been subbed. OGS certainly deserves criticism imo on that one.

OGS may not be a success with United but it seems the players respect him. I would reserve judgement on him and see how the season pans out. United will be doing very well to get near 3rd this season.

Its not daft to say he’s out of his depth at all, do you think I’m making that assumption from one game? How has his managerial pedigree suggested he’s the right man for the job? Has he done enough to suggest he’s good enough for the job? Very little natural progression and he needs to go sooner rather than later.

Like Murph with Stephen Kenny,  I think your mind is made up on OGS from day 1. It doesn't matter what he does.

I think if he wasn't an ex-United player, he wouldn't have gotten the job as his managerial record wasn't good enough. He came in and did well initially and got a longer contract before the season had ended disastrously which I didn't agree with actually at the time.

3rd place was good but not great achievement last season as he met the objective of getting United back in the CL. On the back of that, OGS deserves at least until the end of this season and we'll have a better idea of where United are at.

Managers with much more impressive CV's have failed at United irrespective of any recruitment/transfer policy or Woodward or anything else so OGS deserves a bit more time before United pull the trigger on him.

The players are playing for OGS in a way the United players didn't under Moyes. Moyes was out of his depth but for me it's Jeckyll and Hyde stuff with United under OGS so far and the jury is still out on him imo.

Ah here don’t be comparing me with Murph LOL

I was happy Ole got the job after defeating PSG so to say I was against the appointment form day 1 is ridiculous. What happened the following season convinced me he’s not up for the job, I loved Ole as a player but a top manager he never will be. It’s only ever going to end in failure so I would prefer if the Board acted promptly in replacing him, something I don’t expect them to do due to their incompetence.

I was the opposite but in fairness like most United fans I wasn't totally against it at the time given his excellent start but did think they should've waited until the end of the season.

I will say OGS got a huge get out of jail free card with the pandemic last season. Even though United had a few good results before the break with Fernandes's signing, it also allowed Rashford to recover from his back injury and United finished the end of the season in 3rd place.

A win against Leipzig on Wednesday would put United in the driving seat to actually  win the group which I thought United would struggle to even get out of when the draw was made.
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

That wasn't anything to do with results on the pitch though.

It was down to a combination of money and personality clashes between Ferguson and the blazers at Love Street. The then St Mirren directors (who are all now dead) and Ferguson himself all gave confusing and contradictory accounts of what happened. Who you believe was telling the truth is up to you to decide.

Maybe not, but they might have found a way of keeping him had his results at St. Mirren (Win rate 43.8%) been up with those at East Stirlingshire (52.9%), Aberdeen (59.3%) or Man U (59.7%).

I mean, he even managed a 30% win rate with Scotland - arguably the finest achievement of his entire career! LOL

Marcus Rashford is such a thoroughly sound and admirable fella that it's almost made me forget he's a horrible Manc ****

I'm almost glad he scored a hat trick for those bastards tonight so Tory MPs and horrible Daily Telegraph hacks couldn't write some pathetic Twitter messages telling him that he was taking his eye off what happens on the pitch

On a serious note though, what is virtue signalling?

Fantastic performance last night against one of Europe's most "in form" teams, delighted for Rashford too.

In fact, using a phrase like the one I highlighted to show what a hardcore Liverpool supporter you are, is a good example of virtue signalling. Even if it is was very much in jest.

Rashford is a really outstanding individual.

Delighted that you think being a Liverpool supporter is virtuous

That's the 5th one of the England starting XI from the WC final to be diagnosed with dementia. More proof regarding heading the ball in those days.

Fred is a strange wan. Very good at winning the hall back and breaking up play. But he’s constantly giving it away. They are actually at there most vulnerable when he wins it back and has possession!

Sky still showing the Keane v Viera tunnel spat.
It was 20 years ago when both teams were fighting each other for league titles.
Now it’s 15th v 13th - doesn’t have any relevance.
