Their back line consisted of Mignolet, Gomez, Matip, Lovren and Moreno.

All of whom played excellently...

They weren't tested

So because they weren’t tested means Liverpool were there for the taking? That’s a fairly big jump..

One shot on target which is pathetic.United were happy with the point it seems but woeful to watch. They were also piss poor when they did have possession, missed placed passes and wrong options constanly.

Pool defence didnt get tested at all, when its clearly a major problem for them.

Yes! had United set up to attack then I believe Liverpool were there for the taking due to how poor their backline is, thought I made that pretty clear.

Where did you get that stat from ?
Is it team was in the top 6 when United played them or they finished top 6 previous season ?

Sure he beat both Chelsea and Spurs at home last season

And Leicester if your going on position from previous season.Spurs and Leicester would count in that scenario but not Chelsea either way its bullsh*t.

Sorry should have said away from home.
The current big 6 teams.

Given how poor Liverpools defence has been I was surprised Mourinho didn't go for it a bit more. This season was supposed to be different to last in that respect

Super quote from Ken Early in regards to your above post.

"It was a day when Jose Mourinho did what many said was impossible and found a solution to Liverpool’s defensive crisis."

It's not that fanciful. Mourinho normally lasts about 3 seasons per club. Par for the course would be for him to have a successful season 2, cause mayhem next year and then leave whilst blaming everyone else for any perceived failures.

Realistically, he can only go to a big club so PSG is not that unlikely. They have all the money in the world and they want to win. The question is whether they are prepared to give up their attractive brand of football to try and achieve winning the CL.

Not all bad, Guardiola will be primed to take over when Mourinho leaves.

It's a bit odd to hear anyone being surprised that United set up in the way they do. It was even more surprising to hear so many people pre match tip United to go and take that Liverpool defense apart. United were never going to play anything but a back 9/10, with Lukaku left miles from support in the hope something will fall his way. United may have won that game, but it wasn't going to happen from some dominant performance.

That is the Mourinho way now, it is miles from his Chelsea days and Madrid days where he was a negative coach. He is now beyond the realms of negative. He is miles off the other top coaches in the PL who are moving forward at a rate of knots.

After the start where everyone was lauding them, I think it won't be long before everyone is questioning them and especially Mourinho. Away to Benfica tonight, a team on the brink in the CL already in an appalling group, and what are United doing or attempting to do? How is anybody possibly surprised by this? Again they may well win, but the level they are playing at does not bode well at all for the future.

Effectively a 5 team PL and I can still see them coming 4th/5th. Be interesting to see what United do come the summer time if that happens.

Maribor had more shots on target after losing 7-0 than United against Liverpool on Saturday.

I'll take having the less shots and no goals conceded. Big smile

Very poor sluggish performance from United tonight. They just seem to be out of sync. It's very pedestrian. They may end up losing it.
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.
